I've been using wood putty to fill in cracks on my mask, the problem is the wood putty keeps cracking. The base is EVA foam and it has been completely covered in wood putty and spray paint, would this make a good epoxy shell so the mask won't crack any more? Any ideas for what I can coat the bio-mask with to prevent cracking? Would fiberglass or two-part epoxy work?

epoxy will do a very good job indeed Kryptaos and wont flex

My dad is adamant that we NOT use epoxy or fiberglass (primarily because we made a Pacific Rim drivesuit when I was in 10th grade and it was a bit of a nuisance). I'm trying to explain that foam covered in wood putty and appliance epoxy are going to end up an even bigger nuisance. I think it needs a shell to prevent cracking

It needs to be ready for Halloween so I don't have too much time, but I guess I should give it a shot

I'm using Vinman's backpack for reference, I'm going to try and freehand it as much as I can but to get myself started I modified some of his photographs into templates, all I need to know is how long the red line should be (the red line is for scaling). These are what I've done so far, these pieces will be laser-cut. I figured if I know how big the piece that goes against your shoulder is, I can build up the rest
