So this has prob been asked to death but my question is a bit different. Im not asking how to scale, but if my method of scaling is ok. In theory it should work but I would hate to build it and turn out all messed up.
So I found a paper craft pep file on a small model figure that someone made. Now this is a paper craft model so its only around 12" tall.
So since I want to make this into a costume i need to scale up a lot. This is how I did it, and please tell me if this will work.
Since this is a model, im guessing that all the pieces are sized the same, and when completed will all fit together. So what I did was:
1. Size up only the head and made it so that it fits perfectly on my head.
2. After I built it and test fit, i went back and looked at the "scale" in the pep program (16.1547)
3. Went back to the original head and looked at the "scale" (2.5674)
4. Divided the original scale with the upped scale and got 6.2922
5. For the rest of the pieces I just times the scale by 6.2922
Will that work? I'm guessing it would, but I read many how-to's on scaling pep files but never saw this way, so made me worry.
I'm a super skinny adult so I know that the pieces will fit my body, and that the end costume will be taller so I will have to make stilts. But will all the pieces come out the same and match up?
