My Own Take on Mr. Freeze

Had time today for more work on the back, added some details.

hey guys, long time no post again, working on the boots for the last little bit.

slow and steady, and all that..

worked on the undersuit today, going for a haloish feel but just trying to not make it look like empty space on the suit.

cut out all the parts first for the abs

test fitted them on the shirt, tried to get the spacing right because the shirt stretches

after the glue dried for a bit, with a quick toss in the dryer to heat the EVA and set the glue, I tried it on, and it looks pretty good

tried the torso armor on to see how it looked with it



little bit of extra stuff I worked on today too, went with a nerf gun for the freeze gun, just dont have time to make it to fan expo this year if I do a custom one.

If you don't mind my asking, what kind of glue did you decide works best?

I know hot glue seems to be a favorite around here, but I personally think it's kind of a pain to work with. :-(

Also, how did you make those cool yellow half cylinders on the side? Those look really awesome!

I actually use contact cement, paint it on with a paintbrush on both parts and it works like a charm, then to set the parts I throw them in the dryer on high for a minute, it softens the foam and really makes the glue tacky, then a final press to seal it all together.

todays progress after work...again..

upper torso and shoulder undersuit is finished

tested it with the torso on

then descided to try out some action shots


still need to work on the undersuit for the legs tho, get the whole thing painted up and ready to go for Fan Expo

Thanks. And the dome was the hardest part. It's actually two Bubble wall mounted fish tanks. Wall Hanging Mount Bubble Aquarium Bowl Fish Tank #L | eBay I just cut the backs off and attached them both together. And then built the rest of the foam thing around it.

awesome, good idea, I was going to go with a glass bell jar but the shipping would have killed my wallet, and I was not too keen on having a giant glass thing over my face that could break possibly and slice me up.

but anyways I got some more done on the undersuit, just need the neck seal now

not to much to report today, sanded off the nerf logos of the gun ill be modifying for my freeze gun, I wanted to build a custom one but not enough time right now. added a little tank at the bottom to give it a....well a freeze gun look.
