Well, I just got my order from costumebase and it's an all-around disappointment; moreso than usual. The shirt is OK, not exactly screen accurate, but considerably better than my previous shirt. For the money though I think there are better shirts on ebay. The sash is really thin and only printed on one side. I was expecting the printing, but not the flimsiness. The buckles were exactly as I expected, pretty darn small. The sun buckle is fine, but I need to replace the Anamaria buckle with a better one. I'm not even sure if I'll still make the baldric. They actually included the belts and baldric with the buckles, I don't know why, but it'll probably take me weeks to get that smell out of my house. I mean really, these things smell absolutely terrible.
And finally, the biggest disappointment: the pants. I am 100% positive that these things were patterned off of a pair of teenage girl's capri pants. They're VERY tight in the seat and embarassingly low waisted. They're also made out of a twill material, not the cotton duck pictured on ebay, and are nowhere near durable. Every time I button the fly it feels like they're going to rip apart. These things are absolutely awful. Can anybody point me in the direction of a better pair of pants with a large, extra roomy seat and a high waist? I don't want to spend a fortune, but I can't wear these.
Again, the search feature over there has not helped me at all. I don't want to wander around on that forum aimlessly because I don't have ALL THAT MUCH self control when it comes to costuming and if I spend too much time over there I WILL let myself go. And I really don't want to do that. So instead of letting myself fall into the money pit, I'm asking my RPF brethren for some advice.
