My new Jack Sparrow Pirate Baldric

Well, I am the proud recipient of a new pirate sword belt (or baldric) - and I could not be happier or prouder. This is truly a fine work of both artistry and craftsmanship...

So I thought I would post some clean sunlit, hi-res pics for you so that you could fully grasp the size and scale of this work of art.

The belt was made by fellow pirate and RPF member "Chaplin"

Hi Res of front: http://mojoturbocostumes.wikispaces...c_hires0.JPG/143342339/Jat_Baldric_hires0.JPG

First off, it feels heavy like real leather, smells like real leather and hangs and wears like real leather because it is real leather!!! Only the front facing is the pleather design and that is a very thin cover (88% of this item is leather). The rest of this bad boy is dyed, beaten distressed leather. When I opened this from the box - I could smell the leather and when I put it on, I could feel the weight of this on my shoulder.

I also had Chaplin make this "special order" just for me (first time he tried it) I have my conchos punched in two "settings" I have holes punched for "deluxe" tight for the real sword and "relaxed fit" for the plastic sword - depending on if I am in normal or stunt mode.

Hi Res of back: http://mojoturbocostumes.wikispaces...c_hires1.JPG/143342341/Jat_baldric_hires1.JPG

If any of you have other questions about the outfit I am wearing, I can answer those questions as well - and this is much better light than my last photo shoot and I left my colors the normal colors they are.

Hi Res of the frog: http://mojoturbocostumes.wikispaces..._hires2.JPG/143342321/Jat__Baldric_hires2.JPG

The frog holds my sword nice and tight, no wiggle and lays perfectly against my side. I even tried a few moves like running and leaning and a quick sword fight with my son and had no "movements" to speak of.

Yes, that is a Sith Camaro (Toby) buckle which I contacted and purchased on the side and had it shipped to Chaplin so he had something to work with. (and look at Chaplin's work on the leather edging!!!!)

These are also Sith Camaro conchos - and I must say, I could not be happier. I am excited about Toby's product and am very pleased with it.

This was my first prop purchase that wasn't on ebay and I gotta give it a fives star experience.

Worth the money
Was made easily in a few weeks
Great communication
Honest
Trustworthy
Friendly

Thanks Chaplin!

Little baldric? Hey, it's not the size of a man's baldric... it's...

anyway, it has a good home..... I hope to hear from Toby have him weigh in on his handiwork as well.

I think I'll name my next child, "Baldric". I can see it now, his teachersl will be calling me everyday to tell me what award little Baldric has won today. On second thought, they'll probably call me to tell me that little Baldric got beat up again. nevermind!

The boy's name Baldric is of Old German origin, and its meaning is "brave ruler". "Bald" means "brave", while "ric", as in Frederick and Richard, means "ruler".

In Rowan Atkinson's TV comic series "Blackadder", Baldric is the buffoon sidekick.

Baldric has 4 variant forms: Balderic, Balderik, Baldrick and Baudric.

Baby names that sound like Baldric are Balder, Baldur and Baldor.

Baldric is an uncommon first name for men and an equally uncommon last name for both men and women. (1990 U.S. Census)

The detail on the leatherwork is amazing!!! This is the nicest one I've seen!!! ... dammit... if only I lost some weight and looked like Jack Sparrow... ... sigh...

WELL! aren't WE just a little fountain of knowledge. Prepared for the next round of Jeopardy are we? ( saying this as my pinky is pointed outward) :sleep

oh WOW!! That is fantastic! I used to work at a high-end "Olde Time Photo" studio, I know my old bosses would have died to have something like that in their collection! (I'm jealous too!) I hope it lasts you long and well! That buckle is fantastic, I'm not familiar with your referencing where you got it though- is that a high-end repro or something? At any rate it's gorgeous!

Beautiful baldric! I love the custom punched holes, that's a great idea!!

As soon as I have the extra funds, I'll have to order one of these! :)
