Only ONE other time have I seen a kit this good. The following pictures are of the kit I received right out of the box, I have done no work on the parts. The castings are crisp, the mold lines are well placed, the master pattern is well conceived, parts fit together neatly. It has less than the amount of flash I would expect from a resin kit and has six pinhole bubbles on the disc that can be very quickly fixed.

Heres the downside, I can't make calls on it(waah!).

Basically I damn near crapped my pants when I saw it.

I recommend this kit. As I understand this is Redshirts debut offering to the prop community and he has hit the mark on with his first effort.

If the upcoming Nebulizer kit is as good as this kit I will buy it in a heartbeat.

The instructions(in color) and numbered COA.

The body and lid come assembled as you see them here. The transperency comes in a bag to protect it.

Nifty light effect comes with the deluxe version.

A bit of sanding that Redshirt already noted needed to be done.

A bit of expected flashing in the crisp holes than can be easily cleaned.

Note the fit of the back panel. Not cockeyed or uneven.

The insides. I removed the back panel, the kit does not come this way. Note the brass threading for the screws instead of threaded resin.

Just got mine today too. Absolutely top quality, down to the box which looks like a real product. Very clean casting - I can't wait to get it painted and put in the screen.

That NightLight Effect is the plastic diffuser that goes behind the lightning graphic. When it lights up the lightning actually seems to move abit with the diffuser behind it.

I've been a fan of the Rod.com Trek kits for quite some time. Very nice castings, everything bagged properly, clear instructions, etc... If you've ever gotten one of their kits you know what I mean.

I can say with all honesty, this new VOX kit from redshirt is every bit as good as the nicest of the Rod.com kits.

I got the static kit and loved it so much I just ordered the kit with lights.

Well done redshirt!

Cant wait for the Nebulizer!

Funny you should say that. The ONE other time I spoke of in my first post was a Rod.com TOS phaser rifle.

...and yes, I look forward to the nebulizer as well.

Redshirt, hope those links I sent you awhile back for that part you were looking for were helpful.

Thanks for posting your review, Kid.

I agree with you completely: I've never seen a kit that was better conceived, realized, and presented.

Congratulations, redshirt, on a stellar first project.

Looking forward to the Nebulizer! :love
