My new foam mask! What do you think?

Hang on, is there any inner "skull" structure out of cardboard or something? Or is it just pure foam?

No there isn't an underskull or anything like that. Its just foam wrapped around my dome. Here are some pics from the start. Hopefully it can help you get started. It doesn't look like much to begin with but you must have plenty of patience and even more confidence. If you have any more questions then just keep this post rolling. Oh Yeah, one more very important thing, save your scraps! Don't throw them away because you can use them to glue on as smaller details later. When you get the basic shape down, then you need to start getting down and dirty with the the smaller little things like the folds of skin in the mouth or the finer lines on the outer skin between the mandibles. What are you using for your cutting tools?

You should put your camera on a box. :)

I'm gonna use a saw, scissors, a box cutter, and possibly a box cutter...

for sale?:)
It will be sooner or later. I need it right now though. I'm making a bio and i want to use the mask so that the size is dead on. Plus i have to make another before i can sell this one, it was my first go at mask making. I'll put it in the members buy/sell area when i get everything made.

If you're talking about the one by predattack- it didn't show all the steps taken, nor how he did all the detail and "finished" the mask.....

Well, the basics were told. That's enough for the people that use common sense in prop/costume making.

derecklum-

The second picture- what is that slightly yellow stuff used on the details (mouth folds, etc)???
