Fictional props here: table props for the local gaming circle.

And, yes, they do light up (and play sounds, but even more, display actual words):

Took me forever to build them and I have even more respect for the finish and attention to detail of the amazing props the people on this forum have been building.

Heh. In-game, the smaller one with the two big lights is a combination Geiger Counter and Chemical Weapons detector kit. Hold it up near sarin gas or weaponized anthrax spores or Polonium-210 and it blinks and goes "wheep! wheep!"

The one with the three buttons in a row is a field diagnostic computer and portable spray injector. Think Medical Tricorder.

So they may look 1970's on the outside, but we know they have super-sekret future technology on the inside.

Thanks. The VFDs (vacuum fluorescent displays) were the most fun part. I got a lot of data from the Adafruit site, and documented my attempts to figure the rest out on my own blog -- The Starving Theater Artist: Build your own Morrow Project CBR Kit
