My Men in Black Arsenal (and other stuff)

Re: My Men in Black stuff

Well I finished repainting and modifying the Super Soaker CPS 4100. It's not screen accurate since I can't find what parts were used on the gun, so I used stuff that I thought would look good on this gun but still maintain the overall shape.

I've also identified another Super Soaker from the gun room scene. It's a Super Soaker CPS 1-3-5. In one of my posts above, of the gun room, it's the middle gun on the left side of J's head. I identified this gun with help from this site: Prop Guns from "Men in Black II." A pair of black-and-silver | Lot #24102 | Heritage Auctions. It also shows a clearer shot of the previously identified Super Soaker Backfire.

I have also found the answer to my own question above, about the backpack like thing. It's the flamethrower from the first movie. So it's not another Super Soaker I can repaint :cry

OH! and here's some new stuff added to my collection:

Kurtyboy's First Contact Folder (not new to my collection, though), a MIIB folder, a MIB3 folder (one from each movie :D) and a keyboard from MIIB.

Here's a preview of one of the mods I'm doing to my Super Soaker Monster:

Of course the mods includes adding LEDs. After I get done modding it, it won't be screen accurate any more. But then, I don't really care about screen accuracy, it's a background prop after all. My aim is to give it some life.

Re: My Men in Black stuff

Is that a face hugger? Scary idea that the MIB is using face huggers as a power source for their weapons.

Re: My Men in Black stuff

Yes it's a face hugger. I'm also going to add an egg in there, when it comes in.

Re: My Men in Black stuff

Well I've finished upgrading my two big guns:

After completing the Monster, I thought the all silver CPS 4100 looked boring, so I added some black to it. It did improve the over all look, but I felt it was still missing something. Oh well, maybe later I'll go back and figure something out.

Here's some close up shots of the Monster:

I have no idea how that worm managed to sneak in there.:angel Maybe the egg is starting to hatch.:lol

I've just recently acquired this:
MIB3neuralyzer.jpg
The seller said it was made for backup use, but it was never used. Should I paint it up all nice and pretty or leave it as is?

And finally here is my next MIB gun:
Nerf Triple Strike.jpg
It's a Nerf Triple Strike (bet you can't guess what it will become:unsure) It was not one of the background guns in the movie, but it will be a good start for me.

Re: My Men in Black stuff

Nice pieces. Not sure if this is of interest but here is the original screen used J2 pistol as used in the first film. I was fortunate enough to purchase it some years ago. 184399_10200320383479218_1012858275_n.jpg

I just finished my tri-barrel for the recent convention in Hawaii, the Kawaii-Kon. I ditched the Nerf Triple Strike and started all over from scratch, since it couldn't support all the mods I wanted to do to it.

Re: My Men in Black guns

While waiting for the other super soakers, I've repainted two more guns:

Here is a red version Series 1 De-Atomizer, since I didn't want this one go to waste.

This 2012 Standard Issue, is to tide me over until the Studio Art and Technology's one gets released.

These are some replicas that I have acquired:

Hi

Where can I find one of those 2012 guns, the 2nd one down in your post?

Thanks!

Ha ha, love the casual "not sure if this is of interest" post of the original screen used J2 pistol!!! Hell yes it's of interest. Would love to see more pics of it and ask some questions. Don't want to hijack this killa Super Soaker thread though... Do you have a thread on this piece?

Cheers.

Hah, never noticed that ST:TMP (?) phaser in the lower left area of that weapons wall before.:lol Or is that a TOS one?
Great collection, I too am jealous of your watch collection, the Ventura is still on my wish list.

I keep hoping they will eventually make some of the larger firearms from MIB. The small ones are very nice... but I think some of us would practically kill to get our hands on some of the larger ones done right.

I have a quick question for you gboy6. Any chance of getting a better look at your MIIB keyboard to see the extra symbols?
Sorry for posting to an old thread, but: Click the image, then click again or right click and choose "Open image in new tab" (if you browser can do it). That will enlarge the image so that you will see the symbols quite well.

Besides props, I am also collecting interesting computer keyboards. Keyboard geeks also spot and discuss keyboards used in movies.
MiB Kinesis.png
The keyboard here is an Kinesis Advantage ergonomic keyboard.
The ball-shaped input device is a Spaceball 2003 which is not a mouse but a device for panning and moving in space, used by animators and engineers working in CAD.
They were made by different companies and the similarity between the two is actually coincidental. Both were white/grey and painted black by the props people.
Kinesis did not offer the keyboard in black at the time - but demand resulting from the movie eventually led Kinesis to offer the keyboard in black.

By the way, the phone is a Swedish Ericofon, more commonly called "Cobra phone".
It is a collector's item. One in perfect condition could go for 700-1000 SEK (around $100-$150) at a Swedish flea market. Edit: Prices are down. I just got a yellowed one for 125 SEK, that I'm going to retr0bright or maybe just polish.
