My kids costumes

I'm going to work on my kids Halloween costumes this weekend
one will be Sponge BOB for my girl, and the other one will be a kids clone armor.
Sponge bob will be 100% from scratch and the clone is a kit that I received from a friend for a helmet trade I made. The kit is really nice and it came with a helmet. If I have time I will try and finish off a helmet that I've been working on for some time.

I'll share all of what I do with you here.
Thanks.

Hey Marshmallow !
Didn't know you were a member here
Welcome aboard.

I forgot, Todd came over yesterday and posted pictures here of the Boushh helmet he made. He reminded me that I had joined a few months ago. I just don't have time for mush these days.

Here is a picture of the armor, will have the WIP as i get it done.

I knew I was going to get some slack, that side of the wall belongs to my wife. That is my game room and I'll have to take pictures of the other side to show off my Sw posters lol. I had to play fair with the wife, she needs to feel the love and I have to let her have a wall there lol. :love

Hey - the clone kit is intriguing! Can you let me know (post here or PM) some details about where you got it and the price etc? My 6 year old is being Indy this year at halloween but would love to be a clone next year!

Thanks!!!

Dave

it is a great kit, I worked on one Feb this year for a kid here in San Diego that we helped out Make A Wish
here is a picture of that one.

The armor was still a bit big on my son, so I decided to go a slight different rout.

Dirty it up a little, and off he goes tonight.

here is what I did for my girl. She also wanted one, and I only had one of the kits so I bought some .06 ABS and traced some of the parts from the kit on it and cut it to fit. Well, I also had to form some quick shoulder bells.

I did the same thing to the bells that i did to my oscs helmet. I used my oscs shoulder bells and poured a shrinking material in it and they shrunk pretty good in size. with a little vacuum table I made them. as for the other parts, I painted on the detail "chest and shins", and used some of the ammo boxes from the kit to place on her belt.

I think I'm going to have more fun with this than the kids.

Will post pictures of the helmet progress for when the go trooping with me lol...

Looks great! I usually have more fun than my kids too. :lol Too bad they grow out of them!!!

OK, this is a shrunken version of my oscs helmet. it's an exact replica in a smaller scale. I did get permission from the original maker to do this so please no slack on the re-casting as I do have full permission to get this done.

Took the helmet, cut it in 1/2 and covered it with stone (why stone all I had and it's cheap) lol

Pulled the rubberized parts off and painted them to seal the stone and keeping the resin from sticking to the stone.

DSC05519.jpg

poured the resin and slushed a thick coat on both sides. Broke the stone off the resin and now I have to glue them together, clean up and mold.
