My Green Lantern Movie ring by Bimmer

So i really wanted to get in on Zenix's Green lantern ring because its truly amazing, i just simply could not afford it at the time so i decided to make my own.

I'm a big 3d modeling enthusiast so i took up the challenge to model the ring. It took a few incantations, but i finally got one that i'm really happy with. Although i'm sure i could make a few changes in the next draft..

Anyway, here it is

Stainless steel band
Transparent plastic top
Crackled glass gem with a stainless ringed housing

This is what it looked like when i started

The top still needs a little more wet-sanding and then a bunch of clear coat but its coming along nicely

Exactly, Most of the price of the ring is the individual time spent on each one. But Zenix's price really is a good one considering all the factors

Yeah i'll put that into my next version. and sand down the few rings i have here. Thanks for the input

Thanks Jack yeah i really liked the idea of making the ring around the gem metal instead of sharpie or paint. It adds a nice realism to it

Update time!

Its about 98% done. I need to re-shoot the clear as it got a little messed up because i was impatient and touched it too soon. But i don't think i could be happier with how it turned out and its been a really rewarding experience building such a neat prop.
