My First Suit Build

Just a small update...too busy with the family last weekend, I couldn't do anything much. But I did manage to do some quills using Sculpey's Bake n Flex.

I also amended the biceps for the suit...The arms looked better now. Unfortunately, I couldn't find time to finish and repaint it yet

What did you use to adhere the foam to the shirt? Have you seen/felt it separating from the shirt at all? Thanks!

I used contact adhesive on both foam and shirt sides, let them dry for about 5-10 minutes before attaching them together. So far they stick perfectly but make sure both surfaces are dried.

What a long month. My pc & camera phone broke down, my daughter caught a bad flu, my wife quit her job...Wow..the list goes on and on...Fortunately, I did managed to finish the base suit, and base paint my mask and hands.

I used the oil paint+rubber cement+naphtha method for my mask, and so far the result is looking good...

I'm really liking the way this is looking. I really like the skin details on the torso. Rubber cement paint is old school but I believe it is still the best way.

Thanks for the comments fellas. Yeah, in my case, rubber cement paint is the only (cheap) way to go! haha... My camera broke down again. sigh..I couldn't snap any new progress yet. (not that I got time to do that much. too tied up with work)
Anyway, I always liked the idea of having tattoo on the predator's eyes, so I adapted the albino predator (Dead End) tattoo design onto my mask using photoshop.... It would be cooler if I could design the tats myself, but for the time being, here's how it looks like..

Whoa dude!! Your mask is AWESOME!!!!! It's perfect! Now I really can't wait for the mask to arrive! By the way, what kind of paint did you use on the latex? I'm planning to use airbrush too.
I know my reply is late but I used createx airbrush paints ... Looking good man

Thanks man. Your mask really inspired me to paint mine.
I've finally added the teeth to the mask. I re-did them, I thought the ones provided was a bit too fat for me, so I used epoxy clay and sculpted new ones and painted them using oil. But here's a question though, I'm not sure about tattoos in real life but logically the areas of skin that is tattooed is hairless ( I presume). So should I still plant quills on them or should I just leave them bare? Here's the latest pic of my mask...Quills planted on one half of the mask..

My personal opinion I like quills on both sides even with the tattoo... But there's no wrong way to go about it... Keep it up! Looks gud I gotta get working on mine too lol work work work lol

Thank you for the encouragement and kind words fellas. I'm psyched to complete this suit before mid december. I've started on the armor parts, but last 2 weeks my nokia camera/phone decided to take a dip in the pool. So now I'm left with no camera and phone for the time being.

It's a helluva busy year end! I got myself too much on the plate and now I'm behind schedule. I'll try and update as much as I can as I go along. I made some templates for the armor parts in Autocad, I'll post them as I try them on. This is my first time doing this so any comments would be much appreciated. For starters, here's the chest armor based on Narin's Elder Blade Statue..

Please not that the dimensions are in millimeters and these dimensions are based on my body.
And here's what it looked like on a 4mm EVA foam..
