Bought a pair of the Rubies latex Predator hands. I cut off the gauntlet that is attached to the hand, as I have no use for it. It was risky, but I think they will actually work quite well. Ive started making some adjustments so they fit me a bit better.
I started work on my plasma canon and mount a while back... Didn't post anything on it because I was not sure if i would end up keeping it or not. Added some more details. Apart from basic shape, neither are a particular reference to a particular canon or mount, so I made up my own details. Its still messy at the moment, but I'm pretty picky so it will be cleaned up later before priming.
I just purchased these for my build. I tries to make a suit out of netting but hand no luck getting it to work.
The net body suit option is good. The netting is actually spandex or something like that, not really net. It's not very thick compared to actual netting made from string but looks pretty good. I don't really know how it will last. PM me if you want the exact eBay items I purchased.
Continuing my work on the plasma canon + mount. Started carving the 'mechanic' that attaches the mount to the canon out of a balsa wood dowel. Added small 2mm foam circles to each side where the dowels meet, to create a smoother joint transition.
Attached all of the pieces of the plasma canon and mount together! Pretty happy with how its looking. I have a speaker that sits inside the canon to play sound effects like the Predator 'clicking' noise, while I'm wearing the costume. Now I have to work out how to mount it to my costume ><
Ordered these small skulls a while back, finally arrived! They will be attached with some other bones to a sash/sling with other 'trophies'. I painted them an off white colour so they look more like real bone.
It's not cheap to build a suit .
A lot of guys here ( and gals) will run into thousands to get their suits built ....it's an expensive hobby , but fun ... I love screen accurate , that's were the $$$ go .... Customs are pretty cool, good for the imagination
