**IT'S DONE - SEE POST #20 FOR DETAILS**
I have all but finished it. All I have left to do is replace the white foam board templates with black acrylic. Still working on the fit. I have the two end pieces, but they are supposed to meet in the middle beneath the handle curve.
Here is my photobucket with more pix of the case:

While examining all the extant images I could find this tool case went through much iteration through its uses in the DS9 series and even into VOY. My case is very close to the later season O’Brien tool box with a few practical alterations
The tricorder is a rodd.com body with D. Stines electronics. The hand scanner (with electronics) and the screwdriver shaped tools are trekprops.de kit build ups. The gun shaped tool was scratch built by me and has a light up red LED in. The pen shaped tool is… a pen. I wanted a useful ‘tool’ in my case that can be used at cons, etc. Never know when you can use a good pen. And this pin has three flashing red LED settings that make it a great improvised Trek tool. There are also three iso chips in the case. I imagine having some back up routines and maintenance programs on a handy chip in the case would be a good idea
And finally, the flashlight is a scratch built static stand-in until I can find the real thing. It’s a lighting unit for some kind of old VHS or other tape camera. I have not discovered which ones yet.
