My custom Han Solo blaster

I know you have all probably seen a ton of these over and over, but I thought I would share my first attempt. This was the orange and white blaster that we have all seen. I painted with spray paints I had from previous projects.. I only had flat black, but it was not too bad. I did not have brown so I used burgundy on the handle and black washed over that to give it a wood look. I dry brushed over certain parts to give a worn look and lightly dusted the tip of the blaster to make it look like burn marks. My iPhone pics did not turn out too well. It looks better in person. I tried to take pics outside but I got a shadow on the handle.

I think you did great. These Rubies blasters are cheap and fun to paint. I have done 2.

On a future build you could putty and sand the screw holes (other than for the battery door). Dry brush the wood grip with a lighter brown paintto bring out the texture pf the ribbing on the grips. Sand off the writing. I assume you removed the barrel plug. If you want to get a little more wild you can drill out the scope and use clear lexan to fabricate scope lenses. The original scope was brass and you could add some brass weathering effects to it.

The circle on the left side of the gun (as held by a shooter) is usually silver colored IIRC.

If I Remember Correctly = IIRC

Looks great for a first attempt and a helluva lot better than my first attempt at "modding" one of those Lazer Tag DL-44's set that came out in the late 90's( the white and red/orange with x wing chest boxes as targets).

Great work, I especially like the work you did modding the flash hider! I must get around to drilling out the holes on my own rubies blaster. One thing I would say is the "wood" parts of the handle extend above & below the line which you've painted on the actual prop, for mine I used enamel model paint, humbrol service brown gloss that I had lying around, it's quite dark but I think it looks good next to the satin black I used on the body of the blaster

I was going to paint the would on the entire handle I just did not know where to stop on the sides. Thanks for the comments
