My Bespin gear

I've been working on this off and on since September last year. I was going to sell it but am glad now I didn't. Added a wig and lightened the color of the boots from Motorcowboy last week. The fatigues were made by me. Not sure about the maker of the belt. The Graflex is a replica with Luxeon and MR sound made by Yoda of FX-Sabers. My next upgrade is going to be a metal DL-44. :love
Criticism welcome.

Very nice job on the fatigues. The Bespin fatigues has always been one of my favorite costumes, and I've always wanted to get one. Sadly, I just don't know what I'd do with it other than Halloween. Anyway, great work with your costume.

Hehe, I wondered if someone would mention the watch. I highly recommend Nixon watches, BTW. :lol
Thanks for the kind words. :D

Love what you did to the boots. It looks a lot like you scuffed off the topcoat with a scotchbrite pad. It added the right color to 'em. I'd like to see more pics of them.

I'd like to see him make a pair in suede in a much lighter tone than is on his website. It might just push me to order a pair.

I agree on the boots, I'd love to see more pics.

This is my favorite costume from any of the movies. I don't know why no one makes these. Unfortunately I don't know my way around a sewing machine at all.

I know what you mean about the boots, it improved the whole costume so much by getting them close to the right color. I'll post more pics tomorrow when I get home from work. The boots are really nice quality as they come from Motorcowboy, I have no idea why they are made in such a dark leather. He was supposed to make them for me in a tan suede but there was a miscommunication at the shop and by the time they were finished, I really needed them for an event so no time for a repacement. I actually used a small vibrating hand sander to refinish the boots.

You guys noticed the watch, but didn't say anything about the ear rings? :confused

Are all those dirt stains in the movie accurate places? lol :lol

Nice job on the costume.
:thumbsup

Oh the earrings, they are a pain to take out. Plus the top one is a new piercing I had done for the next costume I'm doing, can you guess who? Thanks for the compliments, and here's some new pics including the boot pics I promised.
EDIT- D'oh, I forgot to say what I did to the boots. When I first got them I sanded the smooth finish off. They were still too dark and it really put me off the costume. So I dyed 'em. Used white Fiebings leather dye, and gave them another go with the sander then some dirt.

The boots really do look fantastic. Best Bespin boots I've ever seen, and I've seen a lot. It's a shame you had to go through so much work on a $325 pair of boots to get to that point though considering you specified tan suede :unsure

I was considering putting in a order for those boots, but specifically asking for a tan suede, but if you've had no luck, I'm not sure I would either. If Motorcowboy could provide a pair and post pics to replace the ones he currently has, I'm sure folks would order them...I would.

I really just cannot fathom why he doesn't change them, he uses practically the same color leather on his Aayla boots. He would sell a lot of them if he did. He did offer to sand them for me before shipping though.

WOW. That kicks ass. :eek I was watching ESB last night and thought to my self I would like to make a Luke Degoba/Bespin outfit. Did you start with a basic pattern and alter it? Did you have to make your own pattern? I need info... What material did you use? Color- did you die it or find it off the bolt? I need info man.. :thumbsup

Cheers,
Jeff

Thanks :D First off, go here:
Luke thread at TFN
Its a good read and the best info on the costume I could find. And pop the movie in, watch and pause it about a million times. :lol
I used the Falcon jacket pattern with some alterations, changing the front pockets, and how it buttons up in the front. Took apart some dress pants to use as a pattern for the bottoms. I found the material at Hancock fabrics for about $50. It isn't as brown as the actual one, but I like it. When its wet, it looks kinda green, which is cool because it looks kinda green in the movie.
