My Batman Dawn of Justice Costume Build - Finished - Complete with Pics

Hey guys,

I haven't posted a thread on here in a while. But I've been slowly putting together a Batman Dawn of Justice suit for myself, for Halloween.

Well I just finished the other night, here are some pictures of the completed suit.

I made the muscle suit, bracers, emblem, belt, boots and cape. The cowl is a one off made by a buddy of mine, and the bodysuit, aka the dye-sub was made by Brulafu Disguises.

Let me know what you all think. I'm pretty happy with it. :)

As always your work is amazing. Would love to see the details of how you put together the muscled suit - it's perfect for that costume.

Thanks man. The muscle suit is actually quite easy. You take 2 bod suits... slap them together onto a mannequin, trace your muscle shapes onto it, then cut those shapes from upholstery foam, bevel edges, etc. Then take both suits, sew around all the muscle shapes, through both layers. Then cut slits into the back of each "muscles pocket" then slip the foam in. You can remove the muscles to upgrade size, to wash, etc, very versatile.. here are some pics of it...

Suh-weet costume. Cowl is spot on. I usually hate muscle suits because they end up looking really fake, but yours actually looks quite realistic so good work on that. I think the outer thigh muscles could stand to be a little smaller, or just have a more gradually beveled edge, so the edge of the muscle blends into your natural leg contours a bit better. That is just me being nit-picky though.

I completely agree, this is something I'll be refining before Halloween suit up. :) Thanks for the input.

Looks very nice. Think maybe the thigh part of the muscle suit is a bit much but overall it looks great.

Hello Jeff,

Thanks! The muscle suit base? It cost me about $100 bucks in material. And I didn't really count my time, but it wasn't quick! ha!

That looks awesome. Love the way you made the Musclesuit. I made one a while ago by gluing the muscle pieces on the inside of a leatherette suit but your way is much better.

Where do you find the bodysuits and foam like that? That's wicked awesome dude!

Yeah, that's exactly what I meant. I thought maybe they were just generic body suits that you had purchased and then added the muscles as opposed to making the skins yourself.
