My Batman comic costume

Re: My Batman comic costume (TOTAL overhaul at the bottom!)

Looking good man! :thumbsup

Are you gonna use the yellow and black oval or stick with the all black?

I love the cowl setup. Not clunky looking, and looks like it belongs with the suit. A lot of the comic style suits start looking like Adam West stuff, but yours is sharp!
Hope the New 52 works out for ya!

I'm working on both- I'm currently making the black bat out of pleather to sew on

BUT-- I was at Home Depot and saw this wooden oval-- perfect for the 'Earth One' look, because it's protruding and beveled

I'm working on that on the side to see how that comes out. if it looks as good as I think it will, I'll use that!

Great job!
What did you use to cut the cowl? Did you do anything to "finish" the edge?
Thinking about doing something similar, with cape attached to the balaclava...

Re: My Batman comic costume (TOTAL overhaul at the bottom!)

awesome! i like how the eyes finished out.
the cape and cowl are very well done

Re: My Batman comic costume (TOTAL overhaul at the bottom!)

Made my logos today-- the basic bat is pleather but the oval is actually a wooden piece of railing decor from Home Depot! It's about an inch thick and has a nice beveled edge, which I thought was perfect for the 'Earth One' version.

I may try to come up with a way to make them interchangeable

Re: My Batman comic costume (TOTAL overhaul at the bottom!)

Any Updates ??
Sorry I didn't notice anyone replied lately - No I ended up going with The Punisher this year! But Bats is definitely next. Although since I have plenty of time now I'm thinking of checking out one of those cool 'dye-sub' suits. Any recommendations?

On the topic of the Sub Dye suits, does anyone know how much it would be for a bog standard batman arkham city suit. I seen one for like 650 on ebay, I'm definitely no expert but that seems like extortion. Is it not just printing on to fabric? Would it be cheaper to go direct to a printing company than to purchase from ebay? Anyone have any info to help me? Sorry for hijacking the thread.

Great work with the costume. My first batman was exactly like that, using the compression gear as a suit. Since you asked about the sub dye prints, I actually just ordered an Arkham City print from Sonju. He basically gives you the print file and from there you send it to the printers (I used fabricondemand.com)

Sonju's print looks amazing in detail, I love his muscle shading on the suit. I just got the suit back from the printers, and it looks even more amazing in person! Now just sending my suit off to get sewn.
I'd definitely recommend you check out his sub dye print (4 Neo Designs)

Re: My Batman comic costume (TOTAL overhaul at the bottom!)

How did you do the neck. Did you buy a face mask and sew it to a Keaton cowl?

eBay, lol. But it sure looks like a spidey4fun to me. You know I actually emailed that dude and he never got back to me. :/
