my BATGIRL photoshoot.. pic heavy

Great costume and pics! I know Batgirl doesn't use black makeup around the eyes, but I wonder if it wouldn't make your suit stand out more if you tried it. It would certainly make your eyes stand out a lot more if you wore colored contacts.

I have to echo Funky here on the boots. The rest of the costume is serious win Damaris.

I'm with Qui and Funky, the shoes don't match the the bad-ass-ness of the rest of the costume! I love everything else! Very nicely done. :thumbsup

Great costume! I think you just became my favorite BatGirl ever!

I do have a couple of thought though. In the fierce fighting pose the forehead of the cowl matches the expression, but in the second shot it looks more masculine and less flattering. I wonder if the arch of the eyebrows of the cowl might look more flattering if they were closer to being right over your irises instead of arching basically past the outside of each eye?

From the stand point of your BatGirl being in a fight I wonder if there is a way to incorporate a more Batman like nose? I'm not sure that any batgirl has had that sort of cowl with the nose covered, but it seems more logical that we'd want the bad guy to have among his other injuries broken knuckles instead of BatGirl having a broken nose! Something about it seems to be just off and not flattering your face like it could be.

Also I wonder what an a slightly alternate look more like the Dark Knight look might be with the base costume you have - black gloves, black Bat emblem and black boots with a regular sole and heel? Maybe a more golden metal look to the belt with that golden lining to the cape you have and as badass as you look now, I think you'd look even more badass! If all that metallic gold was somewhat reddish gold to match your hair color even better!

I think the only thing that could top the look of this suit is to see what it would be like to see you in an segmented armor Dark Knight sort of look.

I hope you won't stop with just this suit!

The mask is pretty much spot-on for almost every comic book portrayal of batgirl, as are the heeled boots. As a matter of fact, y'all can correct me if I'm wrong, but I think most of the female superheroes and villains are portrayed in print with ridiculous (but hot) footwear.

It's kinda sad that Batgirl, or probably better to say Batwoman for this costume hasn't ever really gotten a remotely realistic or kickass portrayal on-screen. Flat boots with not spiky heel would be a lot better I think.

I have no idea how to do it, but it seems like in some way the cowl having a Dark Knight neck protector piece that could attach the cowl to it and still leave a way for the hair to flow out would be great. As it is, Batgirl has no protection for the most vulnerable spot from a blow to the skull/spine connection point.

I remember the behind the scenes stuff about that stunt-woman that doubled Michelle Pfiffer in "Batman Returns" and she would have made a great Batwoman. I'm not 100% certain anymore, but I believe she was a martial arts champion and I think she had some more realistic heel-less boots for the stuff she did as all those back-flips and stuff doubling Michelle. I could really believe she could have kicked the ass of a whole Marine platoon.

I doubt that Nolan would ever do something like that with his film series, but it might be interesting to have a variation on the impersonators in "The Dark Knight" meets "Batman Returns" where out of the blue the love interest was unknown to the two of them in their 'real lives' inspired to become sort of Batwoman that saves Batman's bacon and of course he'd not welcome the help.

That whole subplot in "Batman Returns" was really my favorite thing about that whole earlier take on Batman really. Such a great moment where they realize who the other is. It was a shame that was Michelle's only outing as Catwoman. The ending was so tantalizing that they'd meet again...

This costume clearly looks to be based on Alex Ross art, and she always wore those high-heeled yellow boots with the stylized bats cut into the edges. Sometimes the front was a little more flat and less platform-like, but the heels were always there. This is the "classic" Batgirl, aka Barbara Gordon and the costume is pretty much identical to the artwork. I'd still love to see a red wig, though.
Most supergals wore high heels, but from time to time, Wonder Woman has been known to swap out her high-heeled boots for red lace-up sandals(with heels and without), and lately, her boots have been flats. In fact, in one story, she kicked a villain, then stomped on his foot, regretting that she left her spike heels at home. I don't recall what kind of shoes she wears with the latest, Jim Lee-designed costume, but I'm sure they're more practical.

I could make the smart a$$ comment about batsuits and Joel Schumacher :)angel), but your costume truly is fantastic :)

The cape is awesome.

One thing i would do in the future is use some black around the eyes ( i think some others mentioned it too) or make the eye holes smaller to make your eyes stand out better.

Excellent work though, its a great costume. :thumbsup

lol got to love cold weather and bat girl= ). very sexy and loved the shoot, great pics.

Ya know, I always thought it was sexist that Batman and Robin both had molded-on nipples, but BATGIRL didn't. I mean... damn. It made no sense from a logical point of view. Only from a... well, it was Alicia Silverstone, after all, and... damn.

It just wasn't fair.

Great costume. Possibly one of the best Batgirl costumes I have seen.

Having said that, there are a few things that I would change. First I would get a normal sized batarang. That thing would look out of proportion even if Batman was using it.

Second, lose the heels. Although I have seen Batgirl drawn about equally with and without heels she always looks better and more believable without them. Someone mentioned that you look like an Alex Ross Batgirl, but he drew her without heels.

After that I would drop the bat emblem on your chest about an inch or so because it seems a little to close to your face.

And then there is something off about the cowl. I think it is covering to much on the sides of your face, but not sure.

I think with these changes that you would definitely be the best Alex Ross Batgirl ever. As it stands right now, You still make a great Batgirl.

There's always the possibility that, as many of Batman's (and by extension, Batgirl's) enemies have bumbling henchmen, this costume as-is may be the perfect way to distract them. They'd all be making stupid comments and leering, then POW!
No?
Then maybe the heels contain extra gadgets, much like the utility belt?
