My Bane build

Hey!

I'm making a Bane costume for a friend for Halloween this year, I wanted to share my progress on here..

Last picture is of the sculpts I'm doing. This is my first time sculpting (especially something of this scale).

It turned out **** :(.. I'm so frustrated and I just don't have the time to redo any major parts so I have to stick with what I have.. The sockets on top are just placeholders..
If you have any ideas on how to save the sculpt let me know!

I haven't progressed much on the vest, therefore I wanted to add pictures of the fabrics I choose and a picture of my pattern for the back vest, to give you an idea. The pattern looks a bit different to the original, because I'm using premade shoulder-straps as a base, and I needed to build around these.

If you're interested in this project I'll keep posting updates!

Update of the sculpt.. Does no one have any feedback for me?

Need this done till mid next week at the latest, and still so much to do(the smoothing will be going to get fun)..

Edit: My work place is a mess :/

It's getting there for sure. For a first sculpt it's really coming along impressively.

Are you sculpting to cast or sculpting the wearable piece itself?

Sometimes people don't know what to say, so they just don't. I guess there are those who might be biting their tongue because they think something's not good, but hell, we all benefit from constructive criticism!

I don't have any tips (I'm trying to build this mask in foam, myself, and it's not even to this stage yet) but keep at it!

It will be made to cast..

Ya, it just driving me crazy when no one says anything at all, I just conceive the wildest things, that are some times worse than someone saying 'hey, I don't like your sculpt because this and that looks crap'. Was actually at the point of giving the whole project up, because I myself don't like the sculpt at all, so thanks for your answer :).

Will keep any eye on your build, is there a thread yet?

Thank you!

Being cheap here, but can anyone of you see the asymmetry that causes the sculpt to slightly drift to the right (right from us looking to the pictures)? The head itself doesn't sit all straight on the plate, but I think it's caused by the cheeks not being in the right angles..

Here is an update on my sad excuse of a sculpt:

Next days will be dedicated to smoothing everything up and do the final touch-ups..

Frustrated how everything turned out.. The head-cast was warped a lot towards the back of the head and it is very flat-headed, which screwed up the whole positioning of the side. I hope once this is cast up, that actually wearing it, stretches everything in order a bit, but don't have much hope..

The clay dried up considerably already and I hope that that and my sloppy working doesn't bite me in the arse at the end...

The first pull of the mask turned out horrible, as the latex I got was way to liquid (leaving a mess everywhere).

Here is an update on the vest:
