My ASM 2 lenses and urethane spider !

Jeck all kens of files are free and has stated if you want to sell them so be it, basically with his files word by word from ken you can do what you want with it.

He shouldn't have a problem cause he still gets his money when you order, its not like what zentai zentai does and stills the design.

Not sure what you are trying to say. Are you suggesting that someone can sell someone else's work simply because the original artist put it up on Shapeways?

Wouldn't you have the right to sell what you already bought? If you buy a car you don't need the original manufacturer to resell it. You are just adding to what you already bought then reselling. It's not like you stole his design.

With Ken's files this is ok, because he stated that all files are free and all users are able to cast, print and sell. Any other time though its pretty much explicitly frowned upon through out the prop building community to "recast" or resell someones work. Even if you "modify" it, its not your original work and will just lead to a world of trouble.

Not sure how shapeways works but my main thing was that if a person bought a product from someone it should be perfectly fine to resell. Guess shapeways doesn't pay the artist for each sale. I was looking at more from a business aspect. You can buy various pieces from an art store and make costume jewelry and sell it and the original makers of the pieces don't lose money.

I wasn't aware of that.

I thought since people sold used suits or lenses they already bought then it was okay

Yup, beat me to it. It may not be against the law or anything, but per RPF rules you need permission to cast or print another's model, even if you bought one from Shapeways. Ken does not get paid, Shapeways does.

However, as stated, Ken freely shares his work without restrictions of any kind.

Jeck, make sure to upgrade your membership before getting too deep in talks of selling stuff. Just to be on the safe side ;)

Sorry guys I wasn't trying to argue. What if you teamed up with someone? Lets say they just made face shells and you did lenses. You buy the shells from them and resold as a package. I guess that would have to be ok'd between both parties. Anyway I have no plan on reselling anything. Still learning the rpf protocol

Erm, then thats a different story. You two have teamed up and made a deal, its different then buying from lets say tjack buying his frames/lenses and then selling it for more than what you paid for. That's not okay, spoke to tjack about this since I will be using his frames/lenses for all my runs, as long as you aren't buying them and claiming its yours and trying to resell there items for more than what it cost you, you should be okay.

Like I say, is just a test, I don't think to sell my lenses for the moment, I know Kel is ok if I want to sell it ! I asked to him, and he say ok, "but I asked to him !"

Little update ! I glued the lenses on the frame image.jpg Use metal is really not the better way ! It's very difficult to made a perfect lenses !
