Re: Need Help Bad Please Read

6mm will be much better than 10mm.
But that's just me, let me know what's your opinion after you try it.

Now that I have found a Michael's close to me I can pick up the 6mm foam before that the only places close to me that had EVA foam was Walmart and Kmart so I didn't have much of a selection to pick from but now I do

I have never yet built with foam, but to me it's looking pretty darn awesome. Some real clean edges you've got going there!

I started working on the helmet today this is what's done so far tell me what you think

Well I've been looking at a couple of other peoples builds and what colors they are using but I haven't decided on one just yet I'm wanting to finish the suit before I get into colors I tried to freehand the shoulders but failed miserably so I'm gonna buy the leg files this Sunday and start on those until they release the rest of the files. Needed to finish up the build but I'll let you know on what colors I'ma go with when I get to it that's for checking on the build

I'm with you on first build in foam. Unfortunately I have a freaking MAC and pepakura doesn't work on it. I purchased the printed helmet pep's from someone.

I'm looking forward to the paint on your build also. You rdefinitely moving a lot faster than I am.

Keep rocking man. Have you thought about motorizing the face plate? I'm looking at a couple options myself. Xrobot has a simple I may use.

I did I was thinking about making a mold of this so that I can smooth out anything that. Need to be touched up and then make it into 3 parts to have a motorized faceplate with the lights as well

I bought a cheap 1:1 IM helmet off eBay to help with my head measurements. I thought about cutting the plastic faceplate out of it and reinforcing it and using it to motorize on my foam build. It's already painted.....bonus!

I gotta quick question to ask

Can Bondo or Robdo Be Applied to Foam ?

I'll also be checking the threads but just in case i haven't found the answer yet

yes but why? it makes a fragile shell over the foam its a good idea to reinforce the back of the foam with fiberglass to help avoid the part from flexing and cracking. its a lot easier just to seal the foam and prime and paint.

So I can fix my helmet up I'm I need to smooth it out some and fill up little areas that are bugging me.But Which one is better to use the Rondo or the Bondo and why if you don't mind telling me ?

? Or should I not do that ?
What do you think

I would not do that with foam. with the amount of work it takes I would just fiberglass a paper model and not the foam. I think it would be less work. I was planning on doing that with my foam ironman suit but when I figured out it was more work than just fiber glassing the paper model
