Hey gang,
I just finished up my 1/2 Studio Scale Alien Queen bust. This was originally created by Bruce Hansing.
I acquired this from another RPF member 7 years ago as a kit and finally got around to completing it.
I did a lot of re-sculpting on it to get the neck to fit the bottom of the crown and I also completely re-sculpted
most of the face and head. I had dropped it while working on it and it shattered into an uncountable amount
of pieces. I saved what I could and poured in multiple layers of resin and some filler to give the new head
some strength and did all of the reshaping with sandpaper and a lot of dremel work. Looks better than it did before.
From the front of the face to the back tips on the crown, it measures in at 4 1/2 feet long. It's about 28 inches wide and
18 inches tall from the bottom of the neck to the top of the crown.
I have heard that Bruce only made a handful of these. less than 6 if I remember correctly. (Don't quote me on it though).
The crown and neck pieces are made from fiberglass and is quite strong yet still lightweight enough to display easily.
I have it stuck on top of a tripod for these pictures.
Painted in black, then airbrushed with a few various colors of blue. Then topped off with a few coats of clear gloss. the
main teeth are cast in clear and blended with some body color into the face. The inner jaw has the teeth brushed in silver.
Here are a few pictures of it I took when it was finished. This is up for grabs in the junkyard as well if someone wants a nice
rare piece for their collection.
