Muppets! Beaker, Bunsen, Chef and Animal!

Re: Beaker, Bunsen Honeydew and Swedish Chef!

These are fantastic... Animal is one of my favorites....and I'm much like him too. I wonder how some more obscure Muppet costumes would fare at a con...anyone remember Crazy Harry?

Oh, so awesome! An emotional reaction from me, that's for sure! One of my life's highlights was playing Bunsen and Beaker as Richard Hunt's "stand in" during a production just months before Jim died. The original Muppets will always have a fond place in my heart. I'm so glad to see another fan keeping them alive!

WOW! Thanks, that means a lot!

HA! That would be funny. Wouldn't it be cool to do the entire Electric Mayhem?

I'm glad! The world could use more people in entertainment like Jim Henson. He is greatly missed!

One of the most surreal moments of my life was putting on Kermit the Frog once. My hand just didn't fit. I couldn't make him look the same. That had meaning for me on so many levels... Although the puppet was very sturdy, I treated it like a Fabrige egg! Even now, I'm not sure whether to call the puppet an "it" or a "him"...

Kermit should surely be called "him". And I plan on making a Kermit muppet (not costume) as well, so the person working Kermit can help be a handler for the other costumes.

Re: Beaker, Bunsen Honeydew and Swedish Chef!

Beaker upgrades complete! Servo control board, 13600mah rechargeable battery pack, upgraded fan, servo motor, and adjustable microphone. He even has built-in suspenders to keep the head stable! Bunsen may get suspenders as well.

This is FANTASTIC. I hate to impose, but I was wondering if you'd be kind enough to share your brilliant plans? (Especially that fantastic beaker)

Bunsen, Beaker, and Chef pics from Wizard World Portland 2014! Watch for them on Heroes of Cosplay season 2 as well!

Also, look here for a video of us on stage! https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?v=10201488160581342&l=6915561669549164227

AND here's a video that was shot while we were having some pics taken (that's why there's a pause at the beginning)!

So awesome! It's so refreshing to see something happy at a con. They can get a little depressing at times with the overabundance of drab, dreary, depressing, macabre, etc. Clearly they brought joy to a lot of people!

The video of us on stage makes me very happy.

Re: Beaker, Bunsen Honeydew and Swedish Chef!

The brainwave scanner I made is a replica of an actual Muppet prop. Made it in 5 hours an evening before Con using Dollar Tree things, and it even lights up! Bunsen would say hilarious things like "Great news! Your results are horrible!" and all sorts of funny stuff.

That is so impressive. One idea: have you thought about making their arms/hands more muppet proportion? All three characters had baggy sleeves for puppeteers hands to pass through.

All the clothing we have is XXL to try and give that effect. These Muppets are used at charity events and fundraisers and are very hands-on so bigger gloves might cause an issue down the road.

Animal is done just in time for ECCC this Saturday!
