Forgive me if this information has already been posted. I haven't seen it here at the RPF, so here it is.

MR has just sent out a mailing announcing its 2006 Collector's Society Sweepstakes. The most interesting part to me is that it effectively doubles as an announcement for a "2007 product that we havenÂ’t even announced we are selling yet..."

Here's the announcement.

Hello Everyone. It is time for another fantastic Master Replicas Collectors Society Sweepstakes. We thought we would close out 2006 and ring in 2007 with a bang - and that means our best Collectors Society Sweepstakes ever.

We can honestly say that the prize for this sweepstakes is one of the coolest things we have ever given away. Not only will the winner be receiving a prototype, but he or she will be receiving a prototype for a 2007 product that we havenÂ’t even announced we are selling yet... You, our valued CS members, are getting the inside scoop on an upcoming product. Are you ready? Drum roll please. Your CS Sweepstakes prize will be:

A one-of-a-kind Luke EP V Blaster Prototype.

Official rules can be found on the link below but the sweepstakes itself is simple. Just answer the 10 trivia questions below and send your answers via email to cscontests@masterreplicas.com. Please be sure to include your name, phone number and shipping address. If you answer all 10 questions correctly your name will be put into the prize pool. We will randomly select ONE winner from the pool to receive the Luke Skywalker EP V Blaster. Each 2006 CS member can only enter once so be sure you have the correct answers the first time around. Your first entry will be the one we use. You will have until 12:00 AM PST on January 25, 2007 to submit your answers. (Remember 2006 members – your membership extends until March 31, 2007.) The winner will be selected on or before January 31, 2007. The winner will be notified by phone or email and their name will be posted on our blog.

The trivia questions are posted below. Good luck.

1. In 1990, what fan-favorite comic book artist was given his own Spider Man comic book series by Marvel?

2. True or False. Jack SparrowÂ’s ring was not a ring originally worn by Johnny Depp from his personal collection?

3. In Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl, how many coins had to be returned before the piratesÂ’ curse was lifted?

4. From Disney Classics, what year did Tinker Bell debut in Peter Pan?

5. In the Disney movie The Rocketeer, what was the RocketeerÂ’s real name?

6. From Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back, what type of freighter is the Millennium Falcon?

7. In the movie Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith, Anakin was horribly scarred and his body damaged beyond repair after his climatic battle with Obi-Wan Kenobi on Mustafar. What type of components were used to reconstruct AnakinÂ’s battered body?

8. In the movie Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith, what was the name of the sinkhole planet where Obi-Wan destroyed General Grievous?

9. In the movie Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith, what storm-lashed world did we find Boba Fett being raised?

10. From Star Trek: The Original Series, what number is shown painted across the top of the U.S.S. Enterprise?

Hint: Answers to these trivia questions can be found throughout our website at www.masterreplicas.com.

I wondered that myself when I received the email last night. I thought they made the Solo ESB blaster, or that is at least what they called the one they sold. What is the difference between a Luke and a Solo ESB?

Isn't number 9 supposed to be from Attack of the Clones, not ROTS?
By George, you're right.

I wonder how MR will handle this little bump in the road. "Trick question"? :confused

The differences were inbetween what I call the "Hoth" and "Bespin"...since one was firing and one was not...but both Harrison and Mark used the firing blaster.

Notably the flash suppressor is different in the appearance of the knurling and the pistons on the left side....better photo's would have to surface to convince me of the greeblies above the trigger.

I'm guessing MR will make "Luke's" the firing Hero version.
- Different suppressor (hopefully correct inverse knurling and not raised like their Han version)
- Real Mauser instead of MGC (MGC tells would be removed, Mauser base like Han ANH Elite)
- Only a single V8 detail piece on the left side of the gun (part #84).

I hope they change the knurling on the scope mount thumbscrew to straight. The diamond knurling on the Han was artistic license.

Many thanks to you Blaster experts for describing the differences between the Luke and Han ESB Blasters. I learned something... par for the course here at the RPF. :thumbsup

I dont think it means they will for sure sell it in 2007, I took it to mean that they still havent decided yet, thus the reason for the prototype blaster as the contest prize. It may or may not be sold.

Yeah. One thing we've learned from experience is that there is never any telling for sure when any MR product will actually make it to the marketplace. :p

On the other hand, MR clearly refers to the Luke ESB Blaster as a "2007 product." I wonder what exactly they mean by that.

From the MR announcement:
QUOTE(temponaut @ Dec 30 2006, 12:54 PM)
