MR Helmet RF battery/electronics replacement?

So I just got a sweet MR Fett Helmet but have one silly question...how can I change the batteries for the LED's in the Range Finder?

Not that I want to start fooling around with it but is it possible to swap the clear part/electronics out for correct electronics?
