Has anyone ever successfully dismantled an MR Force FX lightsaber? Mine is broken and, as expected, MR's customer service is...........well, lacking. I was hoping ti fix it myself. Any suggestions?

What exactly is wrong with the saber? If the guys Zombie suggests can't help you, you might want to try the forums at www.thecustomsabershop.com Those guys have alot of experience with FX, mostly in mod'ing them for luxeon but still they might be able to help.

Thanks for the help.

Whats wrong with it? Well its a Luke Skywalker Ep VI and the end cap got stuck. In the process of getting it un-stuck, the handle turned right at the point where the smooth aluminum meets the handle rings, just above the thumb switch box. I was able to get the end cap off, but now it doesn't turn on when I push the switch.

I'll give those two websites a try. Hopefully I can get it fixed without costing me an arm and a leg.

Thanks again for the help. If anyone else has any suggestions, please chime in.

Hi,

You want to check these 2 sites. Hitogiri has suggested TCSS. Tim is currently updating the forum and the store. The forum is back up and running but the store is not fully up to speed. Plan is first of the year.

Search before you post questions. Some members like to eat noobies alive. The reason for this is that almost every question has a thread. I know that it is a lot to search and the easy way is to ask for help but some topics have been beat to death. If you still cannot find what you are looking for contact me and I will point you in the right way. This is the place for getting info on making sabers. Just remember to search first. I cannot stress this enough.

If you want to convert it to a Luxoen kits are available. You will loose the extending feature of the blade but you will be able to duel.
FX-sabers more noob friendly but different.

Since Tim is no longer making conversions you can go with Ultra.
Ultra Sabers

Usually I would not suggest this but with a VI the blade holder is metal. Many just switch out the 64 individual blades with a luxIII using the plastic housing. Ultra is swamped and I would wait till next year as there are issues with communication/placing orders.

Let me know if you need help,

Greg
