I used "Citadel color" paint for my bio ,but it doesn't exactly look like sideshows helmet:
First coated with black paint on helmet and withe on bones and teeth
- Tin bitz (dark copper) applyed with a piece of a sponge ,then with airbrush, spray on little scratch and dark area "createx black" ,
when black was dry, put somme " hawk turquoise" mixed with " skull white" inside scratch to look more aged.
and for the jaw I used "dry brush"
- Brown Ink
- Bleached bone
- Skull wihe
- gryphone sepia ( washes for teeth)
Love the paint up djodjo2xl, I paint mine very similar....
If you wanna paint it like the Sideshow version look up Munson's painted version... He painted 1 I sold him and the paint up is IMO as good/better than the sideshow version
Thanks for the kind words predator666thepain666, really appreciate it. Unfortunately I re-painted it. lol I found a new [new to me] weathering technique that I thought would make the damage look more real. I'll post more when I get a chance to take some pics, been overcast and rainy here a lot lately.
Here's the link to my first paint up of the Mr Black Bio.
The Mr Black bio is an unusual paint up. In the sideshow paint up it look more black and it looks like someone dipped a paint brush in silver and flicked it on the bio. The movie versions, well, it looks like there are a lot of different paint ups. At some angles the bio looks completely black, at others it looks like entirely black with a faint hint of copper. In other photos you can see yellows, greens, browns, copper, and black.
Good luck with you paint up and post some pics then. B)
