Limited Run <<< MPP >>> anyone??? _ NOW SHIPPING!!!

As these are shipping out, does anyone recommend a good thread, tutorial, reference pics, etc. of building up and MPP / ESB replica? I have Roy's Blueprint which is awesome. just wondering if there's a collection of good photos of the screen used prop and/or any tips and tricks for inserting the wires, positioning the circuit under the bubble strip, size and position of the screws etc.

I started a thread when I modified my parks. There used to be a bunch of great photos shared by others, however, photobucket took them away. I hope someone starts a new thread to bring back some of those pics. They were extremely helpful and there was a lot of feedback and guidance along the way of my modications

Mine arrived this afternoon, as well. I preordered these things before my son was even conceived! I'd say it was worth the wait. Here is one pictured next to my Parks MPP with Roy's 1st gen shroud. The Parks is about 1/4" longer than Roman's, which I believe is an inaccuracy on Park's part. I can't wait to start converting these babies!

Is anyone planning on using the screws for the grips? Have we ever determined what size screws?

I haven’t seen any news on screws... I was playing around with brass screws with a ESB build.. really can’t find anything local with the correct “hemisphere” we see in the photo..

The photo the hemisphere of the screw is fairly flat but round

I can only find round slotted screws.. and I think the smallest I found was 3mm

Wish I could find a 2.5mm...

The real one is bent inward and the sidebars don’t sit flush against the clamp because of this, leaving a gap. Might need to bend these also to get the same effect.

Can you see what I’m saying in the attached photos?

I got a shipping notice. I guess it's for the extra parts I ordered the other day (end cap, & clamp, for Heiland build). Still have not received shipping notice for my two MPPs. But, I'm still excited! :thumbsup

Yep! the V2 is the same way, this might have been a tactic to keep cards in place.

I just sanded a replica bubble strip a bit thinner.. and beveled the back edges of an exactra card and slid them in together. No glue or anything

I have seen small screws at my local hobby shop. They specialize in trains. If we can get a good educated guess, I might be able to ask them

I'm going with this one. I have the injection-molded, VHB tape grips from Roman (12.75mm wide). I'm trimming the bottom of the tape off, and using the thickness of the VHB tape to offset for the thickness of the end cap a little bit. That way, in theory, I shouldn't get the curve in the grips and the end cap should thread on/off as needed. When I put it together next week, I'll post pictures of the process and results.

I feel like I'm a Roman apologist, lol, but the finish on this shroud is closer to how the actual prop is as far as I can tell. Even the chronicles pics of the ANH saber seem to indicate a more worn finish. I approve

I made one for an ESB Luke using Roman's Graflex, I'm planning to make one for an ESB Vader using this as well. I could do an ANH version... but I ordered this pretty late so I'm not expecting to get mine in for a while.
