You know you could maybe carefully spray paint it with black metal spray paint or paint or something.thats my final out of thread post,now back to who's interested.

Good option, unfortunately the black sidebars are different shape than the silver.

Roman.... how about Black sidebars SHAPE, in silver. That way people can trim them to shape for ANH, and paint them black for ESB/ROTJ

Well, that's good in theory, but I'm sure there will be plenty of people that don't have the means to trim the side-bars.

We'll figure something out.

I honestly don't want to get caught up with small items anymore. If this run is anything like the Graflex I'm not going to have time for packing the smaller items. I WANT to, but it's just too hard to keep track of when dealing with hundreds of orders... just thinking of the Graflex run makes me stressed! :lol

Maybe we can do ANH & ESB MPPs...

I would just run both sidebars and include with each flash. Then it's not a choice you just get both and can choose for yourself which ones to use! Just my two cents.

It would be hard for people to alter these on their own. The black are trapezoidal and it's easy to cut to length and sand, but they also have a different side profile which would be harer to replicate on your own. Silver are flat sided ovals and black are not really ovals. Let me go dig up a picture. And it will have to be a picture I already took because a flash is en route to Roman, so I can't go take new pictures...

Honestly, if you were to just make the flash itself and leave us to get the small parts I wouldn't even be upset.

Even If Roman were to do just the ANH style MPP, I'm sure that someone would step up and do a run of ESB side bars. Heck, if I only had a mill, I'd make some myself. It would be cool if Roman were to make both options available, but it's not a deal breaker if he doesn't.

I will mention this, though. From the limited reference that's come out, it looks like the Rogue 1 saber is based on the ESB/ROTJ version. It seems like that's the version Lucasfilm is deeming canon, so that may influence demand.

I sent just the one with black side bars, flat topped screws in the black button/bulb ejector, and painted letters. This one had the clamp that closed more fully around the flash tube, so I thought it better for that purpose. It is fully insured, but I didn't want to risk both in transit at the same time. I can always send the other later if needed, but I have my digital calipers on hand for the silver side bars, engraved non painted letters, and domed head screws! Just need to know metric or crazy US measurement you might want.

Can someone confirm if the Rogue One had the large or small B Port? (I hate the term "B hole" that we've been using). Also, it has a brass thumbscrew, never mind the fact that the ESB/ROTJ one has an unknown thumbscrew that Roy has talked about replicating.

I think Roman is right. If he makes a flash, someone else can make the ancillary parts to adjust to their desires for which movie.

Wasn't the ROTJ made from a graflex and not an MPP like in ESB?

That's a common misconception. The Graflex-based saber was a stunt saber with a blade used for dueling scenes. After filming wrapped up, the blade was hacked off and it was repurposed as a touring exhibition saber. The ESB hero survived into ROTJ. There are promo and behind the scenes pics that prove it. It can't be seen in the film because the saber sits further back on Vader's belt, thus it's concealed by his cape the entire film.
