Its a Wonderful Life gets me every time. For me, James Stewart gave the all time best perfomance in that movie.

For some reason I'm a sucker for final episodes of TV shows. I have no idea why, but they always get me.

When Jim and Pam got married on the office, I bawled! I'll admit it.

For some reason I'm a sucker for final episodes of TV shows. I have no idea why, but they always get me.

Agreed. Many episodes of The Wonder Years did that for me, including the finale. Few episodes of Futurama, Friends (including the finale), Lost (the finale), many episodes and finale of The. O.C. and Scrubs.

And there are many more movies and TV show finales that got me teary eyed, just can't recollect them all now.

I saw all the BTTF movies for the first time when I was about 16 in 1997. I didn't cry, but when I saw "The End" during the closing of BTTF Part 3 I was REALLY bummed out that there were no more BTTF movies.

I'd say that "Up" is the hardest thing to watch in the first 8 minutes. Pretty much everything else everyone mentioned has things that are in extreme situations, supernatural or science fiction, but the first 8 minutes of "Up" is so distinctly human in nature. Just about everyone can expect to go through that in their lives, and that is what makes it so hard to watch.

And that first 8 minutes still had a better romance than the entire "Twilight" saga.

Well said. I can't believe I missed out to mention Up. I couldn't control my eyes in the theater during those scenes.

The end of Scrubs was killer. That Peter Gabriel song gets me every time I hear it now.

When I was a kid I really lost it during Bambi, and I remember crying at the end of the original King Kong, and Old Yeller.

adult type tearing up includes:

Officer and a Gentleman
Schindlers List
Saving Private Ryan
Million Dollar Baby
The Green Mile
Up
Toy Story 3

There are probably more I cannot remember.

Edit: I can't believe I forgot Star Trek 2.
And I probably wanted to at the end of 3 when the Enterprise blew up.

Okay okay okay... for real now-


Sometimes I well up at films- some can be obvious, and some are pretty bizarre...


The obvious ones-

Titanic: "Jack, there's a boat."

WOK: "His was the m-most... Human." (And subsequent Amazing Grace on the bagpipes).


Some are a little more "I really shouldn't be crying at this"...

Galaxy Quest: When Quellec is dying in Alexander's arms and Alexander recites the line he loathes to say- "By Grabthar's hammer, by the Sons of Warvan, you shall be avenged."

2010: After understanding that he is about to be destroyed by Jupiter exploding, HAL asks Dr. Chandra "Will I dream?". To which Chandra responds "I don't know" (telling HAL the truth).


And some are downright bizarre...

Monty Python and the Holy Grail: After King Arthur and Sir Bedevere have successfully crossed the Bridge of Death, there is an "angelic music cue"- this cue is heard by Arthur and Bedevere leading the way for them...

For whatever reason I can't help but think about the fact that Graham Chapman (King Arthur) died at a young age of 48. The music cue gets to me.

Mars Attacks: the Slim Whitman song "Indian Love Call" that is used to destroy the Martians. It makes me cry. I don't have a clue why.

It got me when Sharp handed Harry's patch to Grace.
