MOTU found film prop ??

Hello all... I Was laying with my daughter watching TMNT and I got on Craigslist and typed in 'sword', some times you can find an old Nice sword for pretty cheap .. Well I stumbled into this .. What he described as 'The original screen used Skeletor sword from the 80's film Masters of the Universe'. Now I am working on the validity of that .. However it is the actual casting sword from the film... I was told the original stunt sword walked off set and all they had left was a one sided resin casting of the guard. But this is a 2 sided cast with a wooden stunt blade painted silver.. With many fight marks. The man who owned it said he got it from his grandpa who worked on the film, and claims its the actual sword that the actor walked around with in screen.. He said it's been taking up space and needed some spending cash .. It's truly amazing at what you find with a phone app and a single simple word :) but do any of my RPF brothers and sisters know the history of the skeletor sword? There's no really good reference pics of the actual sword used that I can find so I can't do any screen comparisons...

Hi Irish!! HOLY SMOKES THAT'S AN AMAZING FIND!! Congratulations! The closest I've come to finding anything with this sword is a set of hilt castings, much like the bottom picture you posted. I thought that would be the best thing possible, but you've clearly surpassed those...
I don't specifically know much history with this sword, but there can't be much. Skeletor doesn't carry it for most of the film, just the appearance at the end to exchange a few quick blows. Otherwise, it's MIA. I attended a MOTU screening in LA recently, with some of the cast and prop makers and Goddard in attendance. There was a Q and A after the movie, and they were asked what, if anything, did they keep from the movie. Gary said he owns the hero prop of Skeletor's sword! I don't think there's much else out there. You probably have one of a few pieces made for the production, since it's screen time was so limited. That's the best of my knowledge! Again, CONGRATULATIONS!! What a cool find!

OTIS!!!!! UNBELIEVABLE!! What's the story behind yours, would you share with us??
My jaw's on the floor, I've NEVER seen that prop before! Love that blade, very cool detail.

Okay, I'm back.
I worked on the reshoots, but they weren't really reshoots per se because they didn't have an ending. Nor did they have any money. They couldn't afford my box rentals so they let me into the gold room to see if there was something there that I would except in lieu of my box. I got this sword and a warrior sword.
Crazy thing is I basically forgot that I had them...I found them when I rebuilt my garage.
