Most Iconic props of all time?

The most iconic prop of all time? Show me just one person, who doesn't know this one:

I'm suprised no one has mentioned:

The Ark of the Covenant
R2-D2

I'd also still have to go with a lightsaber. I've had multiple experiences with people who aren't prop geeks who have instantly recognized my lightsaber hilts, including a door-to-door salesman, the owner of a company I worked for, neighbors, and my kids' friends. Sure it might look like a piece of pipe, but you throw grips and a d-ring on it, and people know what it is.

After that, I'd have to go with Vader's bucket, a stormtrooper helmet, the flux capacitor, and the headpiece to the staff of Ra.

Keep those salesmen from oogling your collection... You never know just how much they might like it.

I have a bad habit of showing off my crap to in-home service people (plumbers, elcetricians, etcetera), and occassionally regret it afterwards.

That's a very valid point. This was a few years ago when I had almost everything on display in my front room. Now, most of it is tucked away in my "prop room in progress"...

Video games have some extremely iconic props as well

The Master Sword and Hylian shield from "The Legend of Zelda"

the series has such a vast history and these weapons have been common throughout.
It's the blade of evils bane for God sake!

The Wicked Witches Broom

Metropolis’ Maria machine
Raider’s Arch of the Covenant
John Wayne's Cowboy hat

I'm late to the game, but I think some of yooze guys are picking things that are too old for some.

I feel like most average folks recognize these things (definitely my bias):

-MiB Neuralyzer
-Darth Vader's lightsaber
-Batman Begins/Dark Knight batarang

These are a few things that I don't think many people would say "what is it" if you showed them.

if were accepting wardrobe such things ill add one nobody's mentioned yet.

-V's Guy Fawkes mask from V for Vendetta
its become pretty recognizable and widespread in recent years. even if people don't know what its from they recognize the mask itself. Even political groups are using it now

I'll add this though not sure if it's exactly film memorobilia
-Nazi Swasticka
Its recognizable to the nazi group, not films themselves but hundreds of films and such have used it in their movies. and it is one of the most widely recognized symbols.

-Han's Blaster
Personally this is just as memorable as Luke's lightsaber and was used much more than it, especially in ANH. and who doesn't remember the Cantina scene?

Also, along the lines of Dorothy's ruby slippers
-Cinderella's Glass slipper
What little girl hasn't seen cinderella? everyone knows the story.

Since we talked about wardrobe's already ill throw this one out
-Belle's Dress
See a big yellow dress? instantly think beauty and the beast.

-Harry Potter's Wand
or any wand i suppose. i mean, what little kid anymore doesn't pick up a stick and play harry potter?

-Lightsaber
not a character's in particular (though i would say the most iconic anymore is Mace Windu's), but same thing with the wand, who hasn't played lightsaber at least once?

-Phantom of the Opera Mask
Same thing with V's. it's just an iconic mask that everyone recognizes.

-Tron's Cycles
if were going to include the batmobile we may as well include the tron light cycles. when you think of Tron thats the first thing that comes to mind. Especially with Tron Legacy everyone knows what these are

To me an iconic film prop is anything that would be instantly recognized over multiple generations of people. But interpretation is up to the person interpreting
