Mortal Kombat X Scorpion on a budget

Planning MKX Scorpio on a budget. I'm not sure if this the right forum as I'm definitely not a professional costume maker and it seems that most other posters are. It won't be 100% accurate but it's just for Halloween. I'll post an update here and there.

To start I bought this fabric for $6/meter and got some leather for free from a couch destined foe the dump. I'm gonna borrow my mom's sewing machine to learn on.

Don't worry, you're in the right place. While there's some members that make money doing this (or at least look like they could), there's plenty of us that just do it as a hobby. I tend to be on the budget side of things myself, so don't feel like there's anything out of place with that either.
Thanks for sharing, that's what it's all about!

Total cost so far:
fabric- $24.86
Leather- free
Old shirt- free

First update. Fabric color was too dull so I lightly spray painted it. I picked up sewing pretty quick on the tunic and leather accents. I cut strips of leather, piped them and sewed them on the tunic. I held them on with staples while sewing. For the collar, I cut it out from an old dress shirt and piped it. So far I'm happy with the result. FYI this is the female version for my wife.

Quick update. The tunic is 99%. All metal work is either hardware from work or cut out of a sheet of rubber. Originally I painted them bronze but it blended to much. I ended doing them over with a silver sharpie. I bought the bronze rivets from Amazon for $10.

Total cost:
fabric- $24.86
Leather- free
Old shirt- free
Metal work- free
rivets- $10
Total- $34.86

A quick kunai. Cut out of laminate flooring. The handle is from a broom stick. It's painted bronze and the blade edge is aluminum tape. Not sure if I'll keep the leather accent.
