Mortal Kombat Scorpion and Sub-Zero First Movie Costumes...?

I've looked over several threads but didn't turn up much information. Did anyone ever offer replicas of the films from the first movie? They looked like leather type material that was yellow and blue. I believe they're the same costumes from the tv show also.

Does anyone have any leads on getting one of these?

I saw they changed the designs for Mortal Kombat Legacy. Not too bad, just different.

There is a seller on ebay who makes the masks. I don't think the other parts would be difficult to make.

I checked on Ebay but didn't find any links to the masks although I remember someone else also saying they were on there. Any links?

We made ours (or at least I had to have mine made because I suck at sewing)

The pattern for the tunic/coloured bits is simple enough but we used leather-look vinyl and that was rather thick so a good sewing machine and needle is needed.

FYI, that Scorpion also built the TARDIS in my avatar.

Yeah, it's just a type of upholstery vinyl with a bit of a leather texture to them.

I know Chris Cassamassa has his costume still he also used it in the tv show his brother David was my sensei.ADI made the face masks for Scorpion and Sub Zero I worked for them also and seen the molds before.

Those Sub-Zero and Scorpion tabbards are super simple! If you can find the right vinyl, I would recommend that you make them yourself rather than try to buy them. The vinyl should be easy enough to find at fabric stores. The tabbard is just constructed from several rectangular pieces. You don't even need to sew the torso pieces to the loincloth piece at an angle. Just attach it straight, and when you put it on over your head, they will splay out the way they did in the first movie. You can tell by the way the movie costumes buckle at the abdomen, rather than lying flat, that this is how they did it. The loincloth is twice as wide as the torso pieces. The only tricky part is, the sash actually appears to widen a little in front, like a cummerbund. If you don't sew, it's a great first project, because it is so simple.

That's what they're called? Sweet, I learned something! :)

That's what we have but is a little more obvious if my gut wasn't so big! :p

We also used eyelets in the back and tied it up like a corset with elastic though for some give.

Yeah, the corset-style lacing is a good way to go for some gut-control.
Also, you can sew some tight, broad elastic into the waistband of the tights. I've actually bought elastic that was four inches wide. You can use two strips for an elastic eight inches wide, extending from the top of your tights, which can give you even more waistline support underneath your shirt.
