Moonraker shuttle commission build 2

Weathering is subtle and nice - well done.

If this is the same kit, I had to actually scratch-build an entirely new vertical stabilizer on miy build...

Very nice build! And the weathering is excellent. May I enquire as to your method for painting the panel lines?

Sean

Thats its , finished at last. What have i learned from this build? The Revell/Monogram Shuttle is one of the worst fitting kits i have ever built , and i have built a few. NOTHING fitted without filler , and the raised panel lines really didnt help.
Im pleased with the outcome , but at the same time i will be glad to see it go! If this had been my own personal build it would have been launched ages ago. Im please i finished it though , it was a real challenge.
I hope Eagle likes it!

Sweet as a nut - well happy with how this has gone. :cool:thumbsup

Feel free to post this on the Eagle forum - our members would be appreciative. :)

Holy cow that is perfect!!! Looks better than the original!!! Honestly dude, that shuttle looks like it touched down minutes ago!!!

Dave :)

Thanks Guys. The weathering was done by airbrushing over a straight edge.

Gunpowder, your build of the Moonraker is nearly perfect expect for one obvious detail that you've accidentally omitted. The underbelly of the Moonraker up to the bottom of the nose of the shuttle should be brown not black. Derek Meddings painted it brown so it would stand out against the blackness of space. This is clearly visible in the BluRay of Moonraker if you get a chance to watch those scenes. I also have some stills showing Mr. Meddings with the Moonraker model and the bottom tiling is definitely some shade of brown. Aside from that, awesome job on building and painting. Congratulations.

I couldn't give a rat's arse how the studio model was painted. It's correct as far as I'm concerned. Just like a correctly painted, 'real-world' Pulse Rifle would be OD. ;)
