While watching "Loki" on Apple TV, I recognized at least two instances of the Callisto 2 (Callisto 2 - Fully Printable Retro Computer by LowBudgetTech) .
Details:
The first major mistake I made was not printing with a high enough resolution. The instructions called for 2mm. I should've printed at 1.25. I should also have doubled the wall density to make it a bit safer to smooth.
The second mistake was in not applying glue to the parts prior to snapping them together. Without the glue, the parts flexed and shifted when the case was handled, which led to any filler cracking.
I had originally intended to paint the Callisto with a high gloss red, as seen in the show.
Since this was my first time trying to refinish plastic (or anything), I wasn't able to get the surface smooth enough to use gloss paint.
I decided to switch to a satin finish and then weather it. That way all of the glaring blemishes might be considered to be "on purpose."
Here's a few more pics. Hope you enjoy!
