Oh yeah... Johnny 5 would be awesome. I can't believe I started this thread over a year ago. So far the best ideas in my opinion that I personally would like to see made are:
1. Alexi Leonav from 2010
2. Johnny 5 from Short Circuit
3. Gunstar from The Last Starfighter
4. Project Crossbow from Real Genius
5. The Robot and the Zorgon Ship from Zathura
6. Chromed Naboo Ships from SW:Episode 1
7. Valley Forge and Heuy and Duey from Silent Running
8. Event Horizon ship
9. Whispercraft from 6th Day
10. Any of the craft from Minority Report
11. Blockade Runner from SW:Episode IV
12. Any ship or droid in the Star Wars movies that was on the screen for more then 3 seconds. (The rest of the pod racers, the speeders, the cars that Obi-wan and Anakin were in while chasing the bad guys on Corusant, the Probe Droid, the Diner Waitress bot, Sandcrawler, T-16 Skyhopper, full size versions of those stupid little snap together kits that were prepainted, the Trade Federation command ships, the list goes on and on)
13. The ships from Galaxy Quest
14. The classic Dune ships (All of them)
And a side note to all the Plastic Model making companies out there. STOP making your kids to appeal to kids. Snap together/prepainted stuff sucks. Detail the ships. Make them worth buying. Look at the all the detail that's put into tanks and military vehicles. Think about that level when dealing with sci-fi movie stuff. WATCH the movies and make notes of all the details. Find the original studio models if possible and take tons of pics and measurements to make it accurate before making molds.
Once, just once I would love to see a kit company come out with Studio Scale models for a change. Look at the success of the Fine Molds models. Finally a company that actually makes models for us model builders. The kids these days aren't interested in model building. They are more interested in playing videogames like Warcraft. It's us that were born during the days when doing something with your hands was fun and we're the ones that are buying the kits. And it is us that will show our children how to do it and spawn a whole new movement of model building. Please... give us what we've been craving all these years and show us that you actually care about us more than making a profit and we'll end up giving you our money hand over fist! ok... I'm done ranting! LOL
