Modelling and building BD-1 (BD? BD-72?) - log

Hey folks,
So, after 5th episode of The Book of Boba Fett I've fallen in love with BD droid. I haven't played the game, so I am late on this BD train. Someone related to production and specifically original model of this droid told me internally they were calling this droid BD-72 ‍♂️ but I guess BD-1 is a more recognizable term.
I know there are whole BD-1 builder clubs and I am posting my progress in one of those FB groups. I also know there are models already. A quick search showed me that people who have more or less detailed models want money (I don't blame them), so I decided to model my own with as much detail as possible. (At this point I plan on sharing STLs in the end for free)
After around 8 sessions of modeling I have these:

Beautiful! I saw the posts in the BD-1 group earlier today and didn't realize it was you - I've been following some of your threads here and have your Fennec drone printed and PM-32 in queue. So impressed with your modeling speed and detail! I'm looking forward to seeing your progress.

thank you so much! 25 minutes left till ep. 6. and I am scared there will be something fancy ... again! =)

HOW in the world can people archieve such detailed 3D models? o_O
What software are you using?
Are you a professional?

Very nice!

If it were me, when I went to actually build it I'd use actual wiring and hoses for the various cables, rather than 3d printing them. Something flexible would have a level of realism and dynamism that a 3d printed tube wouldn't.

It's a happy day! I've finished with 3D modelling! It is ready! (well, geometry modelling is) Still, stuff to do - cut it down, prep for 3D printing (thinking separating big parts for FDM, detailed for SLA) etc. Maybe think of a posable version as well. Will keep you posted with the progress of cutting it down and prepping for printing.

That was the last part to model:
