Mockingbird Lane

It was definitely Bryan Singer. You could tell the dialogue was very similar to Pushing Daisies and Dead Like Me.

I thought the effects were a bit over the top. I didn't really need to see every scar Herman had in the first run, but I guess if there are no more, then they got that out of the way. I agree. The reveal of him coming out of the shadows was good.

And Eddie Izzard ... how can you beat that?

Hmmm...better than I expected, but not great. Eddie Izzard as Grandpa was the best thing about it, and Charity Wakefield as Marilyn was quite good, but the rest of the cast was lacking. Part of what made the original series special was the chemistry between Fred Gwynne, Al Lewis, and Yvonne De Carlo; in this, except for Izzard and Wakefield, there was no chemistry whatsoever. That said, I wouldn't have minded seeing a few more episodes just to see where they would take this and how they might have further fleshed out the characters, but I can understand why Universal decided against proceeding with a series based on this pilot.

Except for Izzard and some solid FX, the show stunk. Lousy story, no zip between the actors, and the premise doesn't work without the monster make-up. A mess.

i watched about the first 10 minutes, the HORRID cgi put me off, and it just seemed dumb as hell

Weird opening, definitely wobbled at times, and oddly visceral, but I just really liked it, Izzard was fantastic and some of the gags were great. Don't know why they had to spend 10 million on it though - it was all character driver, so the same thing could have been accomplished with a couple of sets and an establishing shot of the house.

I rolled over and went to sleep after the first 15 minutes. I see it getting canned. I see why they called it Mocking Bird Lane instead of the Munsters, even the producers knew it would not messure up. They should have just called it "The Semi Creepy Same Old, Same Old Lame Horror Show".

Can you tell I didn't like it?:lol

It was okay. Kinda wished Herman was more Frankensteinish than how he was. Some parts were cute and it was darker than I expected it to be specially the end. I'd watch a few more to see where they went with it. Better than alot of the other shows out there.

I liked it. I wish it was going to be a series because I'd really like to see where they take it. I was a fan of the original show when I was a kid, but I couldn't see a show like that being successful today. Too slapsticky and goofy. I think this update was really cool. I would definitely keep watching.

The Munsters remakes with monster makeup have been tried and they were terrible.

This makes sense, monsters on a plane with no reaction from anyone.

They tried to take a more serious approach to monsters living next door. Frankenstein makeup doesn't work at a Cubscout meeting, the school bus stop, or working at a funeral home without the show being a goofball comedy. I applaud the producers for trying something new and I hope it had good ratings.

I don't think it will work though, there was no squeaky bat on a string or wisecracking blackbird in a coo coo clock. And Eddie didn't have a werewolf doll or gigantic baseball bat. And there wasn't an electric chair in the parlor or dust and cobwebs all over the house.

Hate to say it but I liked it.

I knew it would be somthing totally different and expected to hate it.

I think Herman will become more and more "Herman" as the show goes on. (IF it does!)

I really like Eddie Izzards character.

Like Jim said above me, the full makeup doesn't quite work the way it did in the originals.

I think this was about as good as they could've done, and I hate most all modern TV shows.

It's not uncommon for a new show to take several episodes, or seasons (ST TNG), for the characters and their interactions to develope. I think "if" this gets picked up, we will see the actors and their characters come into their own.

I thought I would hate but I liked it, it was a modern take on vampires and stitched together Frankenstein monster. I hope it gets picked up a special or something. You can’t go back and make it like it was in the 60's it wont work today :(

I enjoyed it and hope that it gets picked up! I am actually shocked to see that a lot of you guys liked it...lol.

The ratings apparently were decent, but I think a lot of it was people like me who were curious for a free sample but wouldn't buy the finished product.
