MMPR Pink Ranger build

I ordered a fully assembled helmet, which I'm sure takes time. I don't know how kits go. I figured Legacy was second to Aniki. I'd love to get a Green from Wild Ranger, but Legacy's $250 complete helmet sales are too good to pass up.

I have 3 other ranger kits already (plus a Dredd and Magneto) that I would love to finish myself but I got stuck in a one bedroom apartment with no work space. Kinda screwed myself over with that.

And Eric got back to me. I think $400 for the kit is a bit too high for my budget right now.

Yeah it's 400.00 because it's a hero screen cast and not a fan sculpt even his mammoth screen hero black helmet is a lot of money for a kit

Legacy concepts use to be solid, these days it seems like more and more people keep missing deadlines and John keeps doing flash sales for 250.00 instead of finishing up what's already been queued. Most of Johns kits he casts are seamless molds so cleanup is relatively a breeze

Also missed the bit in his message where he said he was doing a sale run for $250 (OK, slightly more with PayPal fees), so that's that ordered. Along with the rest of my spandex.

Unless you are doing a "popular MMPR Ranger" you are kinda screwed with options. Which is why I jumped on a $250 Pink Ranger helmet.

When your only options are:
Eric0101 ------- Kits only
Aniki -------------Years long waits
Wild Ranger -- Fills up quick
Legacy ---------- Starting to slip on deadlines

It's almost impossible to get a suit done in a year. I've seen a lot of helmet finishers crash and burn (Roush, Canada MMPR Helmets, etc). We need more helmet makers lol.

That's why I started making my own helmets because I was dissatisfied with what is already out there and I can do better. You can add Rocket Punch studios to your list too. I've got a Green MMPR and I'll soon have several more PR Props to show that are already in various stages of the mastering process including a Pink MMPR helmet. More and more people are getting into the game so you will see that your options are starting to grow and improve.

Sakura1618: Great thread. Keep posting your progress and info. I'm going to be making a Pink and Yellow suit for my girls so your thread has been very helpful so far.

So I finished sewing up my undershirt:

As well as the first part of the leotard I'm using for the top half of the outer suit:

Need to add elastic to the leg holes on those and go back and finish the side-seams on the shirt because I started sewing a little bit up from the bottom.

Well, it's started.

My attempt to make the skirt point didn't work very well, and the white appliques didn't cut all that well either, but I'm rolling with it.

And the test fit shows how much of a mess I made of the diamonds. Made them too small because for some reason I sized them to the arm holes rather than where the bottom of my ribs would be.

OK, the good news is I was able to draft a new pattern for the diamonds that should be roughly the right size.

The bad news (aside from needing to disassemble the entire garment to swap them) is that I am out of white thread. Bleh.

Just got a message from John he said he was going to lock himself in his shop this weekend and start churning out orders, I take it with a grain of salt though cause I was supposed to have my white ranger helmet in april for ECCC and he dropped the ball I told him to get it to me by beginning of June and now look where I am, I swear if he doesnt have it done monday Im going to rage hardcore, way to many deadlines this guys has bailed on. how can 1 helmet take 17 months

So since Angelus apparently don't have a close shade of pink to the spandex I used, I've been mixing by eye.

From left to right, neat Hot Pink and Pink, then 1/1 mix, then 2 Pink / 1 Hot and 3/1. I think 3/1 is probably the closest.

Base is an offcut from my cuffs, so I know it works on that leather.

Color matching different areas of the costume is the one thing about Ranger suits that is so frustrating! I don't even want to work on the suit without having a finished helmet so I know what color to strive for.

Well, it's here.

It's going to need a bit of filling (since from the looks of things what I suspect was the mould separation was removed a bit roughly) before I make the cut though.

Now all I need to do is work out what I'm doing for a visor and stuff since I forgot to ask Eric for them when I ordered.
