MLC's Iron Man Helmet

While it all depends on how the Pep was put together, as well as the sculptor's skills, the thing I like about this approach is that pepakura helps you achieve a certain degree of symmetry. :thumbsup

A very find build, I might add. :)

absolutely!! now that is why these pep files would be perfect to make a ROTS Vader helmet.:cool

VERY nice!!! Has a pep of the armor been made yet? I really want to start on this helmet, but If I have a helmet. I'm going to need armor to go with it
:lol

wow the progress on this is just crazy fast!!:cool looking forward to seeing the first pull!! always liked how you make molds for your helmets.:) so how many pulls you think you can get out of that? looks great!!

I hear you, but Pep is not a guarantee. I started looking for Pep models and found that Pep models are not necessarily ripped from video games or from authoritative sources. In many cases, they are fan made models which are subject to error of interpretation.

I found one Iron man that was a scan off of a toy, but the toy was inaccurate so the resulting scan would have magnified the toy's inaccuracies if build out 1:1 scale.

The best thing to do is to measure the heck out of a Sideshow 1:1 or even laserscan that - then turn that data into a Pep. But that's wishful thinking on my part, haha!

Here's a question I'll throw out to you guys:

Would the 6th scale Hot Toys Iron Man be accurate enough if replicated into 1:1 scale for costume purposes?

Naturally, aided with any screen grabs from the dvd to help in making it more accurate:rolleyes

by far the hot toys IM figure is the most accurate one out there. i am sure you could use that as reference.:cool

Thanks sir!

Just went to ebay for a quick glance at those HT IM figures - they're a bit pricey eh?:rolleyes

Althou, the battle damaged versions seems to be cheaper than the regular one.:confused

HT surely knows how to entice IM collectors with releasing all 3 versions :love

Mold is done! :)

We will start to pull the first fiberglass prototype product by Monday and we're looking at either adding flanges (where the front mask will rest on) to the backside on the product itself or integrate to the current mold......or remold the backside anew integrating the flanges:rolleyes

Well, I guess which ever is economical:lol
