MLC's Iron Man Helmet

Good day guys,

Its been awhile since I posted my MC build here in RPF, and up to now its still incomplete:rolleyes

I wanted to get back on completing the MC project but thought I'd exercise my Pepakura skills first by doing a simple project - an Iron Man helmet.

Being a member of the 405th (Halo costuming), I got sharkhead's pepakura pattern & assembled it. Like most pep projects, the inside was lined with resin & fiberglass to hold its shape/form.
When it hardened, I added card for detail & bondo was applied. Hopefully, once the details are in, then we could mold it.

i have 2 of TimECon's resin IM helmets modeled from sharkheads pep file. i am sure you know him from the 405th?

could you possibly take a picture of side by side with a different helmet for size reference?

The lid looks great! Always thought you guys could do a nice job of it. Any chance of you doing the entire armor?

I did see TimEcon's tutorial on his IM eyes, but dont really know him personally as its been more than a year since I've last visited the 405th.

If I'm not mistaken, TimEcon's helmet fits a 24" head, while my pep file fits a 23" head. However, since bondo has been considerably added, I would only know more upon pulling the first product after molding it.
I will get back to you on that sir.

Hey Kev - nice seeing you around these parts bud :)

As for building the rest of the suit - dont really know if the files has been completed in Pepakura yet - have they?
Besides, TMP has already achieved a killer suit :)

Wow, very nice build.

Just curious: how did sharkshead make this? Was it ripped from a game, or did he trace over screenshots and publicity stills?

While it all depends on how the Pep was put together, as well as the sculptor's skills, the thing I like about this approach is that pepakura helps you achieve a certain degree of symmetry. :thumbsup

A very find build, I might add. :)
