Thought I'd share this work in progress :) I've definitely been getting burned out on Iron Man commissions (no matter the Mark) lately, so it was nice to get the opportunity to do something a little bit different this time around. Part of a two-suit build, this is the matching LEGO version to a regular MK 3 I'm wrapping up. He's based on a standard Lego character, modified slightly to make him more wearable, and with an oversized helmet like the Marvel minifigures. He has a lot of work to go, but I thought I'd share a nice change of pace from the sea of mainstream...

Traditional LEGO Marvel Minifigure:

Where I'm at with mine so far:

His forearms are intentionally long, they'll get cut down to size when it's fitted. Lots still to do, but he's coming along... Thanks for looking :)

Oh my god. . .I've been very busy lately and I don't have much time to check the forums but god**** this is great stuff. . . :thumbsup

Thanks guys! Figured it was time to post up some WIP, been too busy lately.

Agreed! Great idea, great pics! Will his chest light up?
another inspiring thread :)

Of course, I don't mess around. removable hands, LED arc and eyes... I'm working on the faceplate hinge this evening lol

...Stencil with pupils and teeth 'shopped in so it doesn't look stupid:

Looks awesome! Is that just thin Eva foam (8-10m or so) glued together to form the shapes?

Would love for for you to share some more pics, arm, leg attachments, how you get in, etc...

Great work so far.

Thanks for the kind words, guys.

Great work so far.

I'm using 6mm foam for the entire suit. Sections like the main torso would be more easily built out of 10mm (or thicker), but I just reinforce the 6mm from behind to keep things level. As for the shapes and such, I 3d modeled a standard Lego body to fit a person, and then unfolded in pepakura for my build templates. The helmet is a regular sharkmark Mk3 that I heavily modified to fit a the Lego head shape properly inside; It gives a bit of a bobblehead look, but that's just how the Lego figures with helmets look anyways.

I'll put up more detailed pictures of the components and suit-up when I get the last details of the Lego's matching regular MK3 suit completed. The Lego suit is actually very easy to suit up, although leg mobility could be improved.
