Ok,

In sourcing this costume we found out that the fatigues he is wearing in this picture is what the Brits call the 60 pattern:

From what I`m also told that those particular fatigues are just about impossible to find now, barring you own a large surplus store in the UK. So, I`m looking to get opinions on a suitable replacement for the jacket. I have found that the M65 field jacket would be a close copy with some minor modifications:
M&G >>> Alpha Industries M65 Field Jacket
If anybody has ideas or suggestions or any type of additional information, any help would be greatly appreciated.

I scoured armynavydeals.com and sportsmansguide.com which are 2 of my favorite surplus online stores. They both have close... but not quite close enough. Best of luck in your search.

Endicotts do have some in, but in two sizes (I'm waiting for info on the sizes of the trousers) - basically 5'4" to 5'7" and 40" to 43" chest or 5'11" - 6'3" and 35" to 39" chest.

A jacket would be about £20 ($30 approx) but the postage to the USA would be about £28 ($42).

have you tried a uk website called soldier of fortune ? they have alot of replica kit covering many periods of warfare . might be worth a look

JK3 - If you PM me your address I'll send you a scrap of the cloth and some buttons for colour matching. The BDUs I was going to compare them with are darker green than I'd remembered so wouldn't be of much benefit as a comparison.

Sorry all for the wide pic!

58 Pattern Webbing Tutorial - Warning - Lots of big pics!!

How it arrives; Belt, Yoke, Left and Right Ammo Pouches.

CIMG0047.jpg

Left Ammo Pouch has the Bayonet Scabbard built in, Right has the Energa Grenade Pouch (aka Schermuley Pouch, mostly used for storing your knife, fork and spoon in).

CIMG0049.jpg

The belt is adjusted by use of the hook and eyes. Adjust to waist size with jacket on (waist being just above your hips when wearing webbing).

CIMG0050.jpg

First attach the Yoke to the Belt (picture shows inside of belt and yoke).

CIMG0051.jpg

To Yoke clips to the belt using 'C' clips and little pockets in the webbing. The Yoke clips over the small 'D' rings - it's easiest if you do the bottom clips first.

CIMG0052.jpg

Then the top clips.

CIMG0054.jpg

Clipped in.

CIMG0055.jpg

You may find that the clip pocket don't match evenly.

CIMG0056.jpg

Yoke attached.

Outside of belt and yoke.

Part 2:

Right Ammo Pouch.

Left Ammo Pouch.

CIMG0060.jpg

The pouch should be fitted so that it's at the front, but out towards the side (if you're in the prone position you don't want to be lying on top of your ammo pouches).

CIMG0061.jpg

The pouches clip on like the yoke.

CIMG0062.jpg

The front of the yoke, lower ring and upper ring.

CIMG0063.jpg

Feed the strap through the ring on the top of the pouch, from the rear to the front.

CIMG0064.jpg

Then feed the strap through the lower ring.

CIMG0065.jpg

Then through the top part of the upper ring.

CIMG0066.jpg

Then through the bottom part of the upper ring.

CIMG0067.jpg

It should look like this.

CIMG0068.jpg

Once finished it should look like this.

The Yoke should be high up almost against your neck at the back, then adjust the front straps to fit at the front.

SMG magazine in the left ammo pouch.

Shagger...

Thanks bud!!!

I gotta get the fatigues now. Looks like I`ll be going with the m65 field jacket and work it from there.

Thanks bud!
