Quite frankly, I am most perturbed by this. Single handedly, this 20 year old hoochie mama was able to ruin the integrity and reputation of the MTV music awards, who, prior to this display of raunchy sexism, had an unblemished record of musical integrity.


C'mon people, it's MTV, a station that hasn't played music in decades. Is a VMA really an award? Do they showcase ANY musical talent? Are they relevent in ANY way? I didn't watch it; neither did you. And if the media weren't blasting it all over the web, this would be a fart in the wind.








Now let's be serious here for a moment. If Scarlett Johansson were to do that, you would be thanking the Lord for your DVR, and bragging on this forum about the quality of your HD big screen TV!























...and doing you "taxes" more than usual... ;)

And 90 percent of those videos are the same rap videos you'll find on the BET stations playing at the same time since they're owned by the same company. I don't even think CMT shows that many videos anymore. VH1 classic has the most videos but crap is creeping in from reality show land and cheaply bought movie world.
 
The most shocking thing for me about all this is that MTV is still doing VMAs ...
It would be justified if MTV still showed music videos, but they don't, so it isn't.
 
What bothers me most is that you're not even allowed to be critical of such sad spectacles because it's **** shaming and every woman has a right to express their sexuality no matter what etc.

But there is definitely such a thing as trying too hard.

When I first saw that pic, I wondered "why is Winona Ryder here?" and I just looked at her there. After a short while I saw how that guy's face was photoshopped and it made sense to me. I laughed and felt dumb how long it took me to notice Beetlejuice. XD

She broke away from that image a long time ago and she knows she is no longer that innocent Disney product. From what she has said recently, she has been wanting to do a "comeback" because honestly, what's been going on in her career since it was "big" when she actually was putting out music some people who aren't tweenyboppers actually enjoyed listening to? Since then its been downhill for her and she is just trying to come back to the spotlight hoping no one has forgotten about her. I'm sure a lot of us had forgotten about her and stopped giving f's until her performance.
