Midieval ranger costume

So i started putting together a costume for ren-fairs and stumbled upon the ranger sect...i understand what a ranger was and their purpose but heres the question...what does their costume usually entail?

Well, the Ranger didn't exist in medieval Europe, instead they had scouts or a person that ranged though woods and brush in search of poachers or bandits. The scout was not heavily armed. Usually unqiue trail markers, a dagger, an ash short bow a few arrows and a lot of earth tone colors with a hood and face covering. You travel light and are able to hide yourself or lose chasers almost instantly in the woods.

Unless of course they have hounds. Then they also carried deer blood to throw dogs off.
