Even though this was the smallest turnout we've had out of the 4 years we've done these, it was still a lot of fun, and great to meet even more people who had never been to one of the previous ones. I just felt bad for the guys who came from Maryland and Kansas, since it wasn't as big as the last few years have been.
Moffeaton, great meeting you. Heard many great words about you from Jordan in the past.
Here's some of my pics. I tried to post some that maybe hadn't been shown yet....starting off with some Tusken masks I've built:
The lovely Tusken ladies from Michigan.
Female Tusken pouches
Kimmy's Illyria costume
I found out Tripoli worked as a propster on the Smallville TV show a while back, and some of the props he brought were replicas of the ones made for the show. He said sometimes the actors would request copies of the pieces to use for charity events and the like. Coolness.
Besides the drill / Aliens tracker in another post, these are some more of the real same parts that some of the Colonial Marine armor parts were based off of.
Absolutely killer various Clone helmets brought from the Ohio guys.
The truly awesome 1977 Kenner stormtrooper blaster, brought to life out of wood by motman241.
(a couple more props made by motman241)
Yep, I found out I am skinny enough to fit on a full C-3PO helmet and have it close in the back.
The awesome cantina bar part / IG-88 head.
There was quite a large amount of Harry Potter props this year, including these:
That Goblin banker head is screen-used in the first movie. Silicone, hand-punched hair, the works.
Prrrreeecccciiiioooouuuusssss. Oops, aren't they the same guy?
The interior of the Riddel TIE helmet. One of 6 in existance. Met a guy who was there with lonepigeon who worked on the design of all the Riddel mini-helmets. Nice guy, with a couple photo albums of pictures he took himself of various helmets inside the Lucasfilm Archieves. Stuff you'll never see anywhere. It was an honor just to see the photos. :thumbsup
Looking forward to next year's already.....
