MIB "soil anaylizer" Has this ever been made?

In the first Men in Black, Kay uses that little dirt anylizing doohickey. Has anyone made one of these as I'd LOVE to get one.

There was some thought of it at one time. Many thought it was a specialized ice cream scoopr modified for the movie. we all hunted onthe net but never found one which matched closely. So after that most gave up on trying to do it.

Well that sucks. And it's such a neat little prop to go with the Crickets and Neurolizers. :unsure

What about a glasses case? Then again, it's probably too small... unless it's for some kind of folding reading glasses. I though cigar case for a second, but again it's too short and oddly shaped.

I can't help thinking we are looking at some kind of container, but I just can't think of what would go inside that shape.
