MIB: Agent K's Cellphone and Switchblade

Wow! I wonder what it is he didn't like about it? Can't wait to check out your pics! I have a bunch saved as well but there's very little on the Deatomizer and the aforementioned props. Always love to check out pictures of the weapons, though, if you've got any rare pictures from behind the scenes.

My friend said Barry Sonnenfeld thought all the props in MiB looked cool, sleek and futuristic, but he thought the Spectral Analyzer looked like a toy with LEDs. I always thought it was cool! I've been digging through old hard drives to find all my pics. Here's some decent ones of the Spectral Analyzer. You can sort of see the mechanism that opens it. Would be cool to recreate.

Great pics, thanks! Hopefully there’s a couple of the cellphone/communicator in there somewhere

I know I have more pics of the knife, but here's a couple pics of the HALO II. Several years ago on this board we were trying to figure out the knife. Nobody from the film seemed to have any idea. The movie "Reindeer Games" with Ben Affleck was released, and one of the knives in the movie looked identical to K's knife. One of the members here reached out to a Microtech expert and posted the following:

"MiB Knife

OK. Here it is straight from a Microtech expert:

“It’s a HALO type piece that was modified by movie people, NOT MT (Microtech). Given the movie was released in the late spring/summer of 1997 also supports that it would have to be based on the HALO instead of a HALO II, as the movie was made several months before the 5/97 prototype HALO IIs were even released.”

I watched the scene tonight on DVD and freeze-framed on the knife, and the handle does in fact resemble the one pictured at the above mentioned site. It could very well be that the HALO handle was concealed inside the prop handle. The Reindeer Games knife was the HALO II with the anodized finish removed from the handle. There you have it.

Martin

Here's some pics of the HALO II. It's close but has a serrated edge at the bottom. Perhaps it could be filed off. Microtech knives are pricey though. Usually in the thousand-dollar plus range. Perhaps a knockoff would work. The Vespa seems to be the one everyone points to. Am I allowed to post links to sites that sell them?

Let's figure this out! Would be fun to have an Agent K knife! :)

Interesting! The HALO V's blade looks pretty close to the blade seen in the movie albeit more of a mat finish. Hopefully Heidi gets back to one of us sooner than later so we can get the grip situation figured out. Did you have any luck finding pics of the communicator? Just did a trade for an Elite J2 I'm pumped!

I haven't located any pics of the phone yet, but I found another one of the knife. Sony put on a display of all the props many years ago. It gives a better view of the handle. :)

Whoa! One of the best shots yet! I remember at one point there was a photo of a MIB display of a mannequin in a window holding the Tri-Barrel. I have it printed but the quality is horrible. I'm assuming it was back when the movie came out for promotional reasons. Looked like a shop in Universal Studios or somewhere down there.

I didn't want to add that if anyone knows where to locate the J2 sound effects or anything relating to the gadgets please shoot me a PM. I'm trying to get them put together for the short next year. I found the neuralizer flash sound on YouTube and the ending of the J2 blast (called richochet 2 or something) on a Wiki page for the MIB effects, but I haven't seen much more than that.

You're right! The Tri-Barrel was on display at Universal for awhile. I remember that pic. Wish there were a bunch of close ups of it. Love the Tri-Barrel! The one you made was incredible. You did an amazing job on it!

I wish I could take credit for that but the truth is I mostly funded it lol. Zombie Killer and Skylu 3D Design were the main guys that pulled that off. That being said it's still my favorite thing I own! I talked to Skylu about modeling a version that's a couple solid piece sort of like the ICONS was going to be that way maybe a few members could get their hands on one but we never spoke any further about it after that. Would be a great thing to print mold and cast in resin to have plated though. Even though I own this one that has all the bells and whistles I still wish I could find some photos of the ICONS prototype. I've only seen a single photo of it.
